Hi Jodie and welcome to quit support. I'm scoffing tube of Pringles so this may take a while!

Congratulations on 4 days quit that's a fantastic start to your journey. Not sure about shaking I shook with anger and rage after a couple of weeks quit and remember wanting to run people over in my car and smash the house up! Is that what u mean?

Have you got any NRT? Or are you cold turkey or tablets?

Have a look round the site at the pinned posts and the some of the members posts over the years / months etc that will give u some advice.

Just ask anything you want to know.

Good luck 😀

Hello Jodie and welcome to Quit Support.   Your doing great to  have already done  4 days.   When you first  stop smoking your body has  some or lots of different reactions. I havent heard anyone mention shaking . Is the shaking  all the time or just now and again?    If your going cold turkey it may be you need a little help with a nicotine replacement.   Like Andrew said have a browse around the site.  Meanwhile I will see if I can find any information on the shaking.

xx :)

Cold turkey means giving up something like smoking without any replacements like your nicotine pills.

What sort of nicotine pills are they? Are you using them as prescribed / recommended?

You could get reactions if you took too many? Maybe shaking? Not sure. Jilly said she'll look it up for you. 😀

Cold Turkey means not taking anything to help you quit.

I think the shaking is due to quitting. I have been browsing around and found a site which is very interesting. The site is called whyquit.com

This is a paragraph to give you an idea.

The initial powerful cravings that overlay the up to 72 hours of abstinence needed to purge our blood of all nicotine are more creatures of survival pathway conditioning than actual physical withdrawal. Our cravings are the mind's means of warning us that it's time to ingest nicotine to avoid experiencing physical withdrawal (nervousness, irritability, grouchiness, tension, anger, rage, frustration, sweating, jitters, shaking, inability to concentrate and mind fog).

:) xx

Hi Jodie and welcome to our quit family😊

Congrats on 4 days, great start so well done👍🏼

I think it's just your body detoxing from the cigs but keep an eye on it. The first few weeks throw up lots of different side effects but they usually pass. Your body takes a bit of time to get used to it. You really are doing the very best thing for yourself. I see you've got lots of good advice already, so I'll just say drink lots of water and try to keep busy. It also helps to excercise, so good luck and stay positive🚭😊

Jodie-are you eating?? Its not low blood sugar is it? Could it be anxiety?? There are a myriad of withdrawal symptoms--and everyone is different--but I haven't heard this one unless like jilly said it is anger--or could be fear or anxiety--You need to take extra good care of yourself--Nicotine is one of the most powerful drugs on earth--so eat right--drink lots of water and try not to get overwhelmed with the whole thing--It does have a stimulant effect and also a sedating effect-(its has it all plus 1000s of toxic chemicals) sooo who knows about shaking hands--Just don't let fear scare you back to smoking--and I hope you are doing some replacement t and weaning off--Cold turkey is not for faint of heart --More than my hands would shake I know that if Id done it--ok hang in there--MmeT

thank you so much for supporting me! I am eating of course but I am not used to eat too much because of I always smoked since 14y old.. Maybe is because of that.. Then another thing is that I had a delay in the period too.. So many strange things but happy to quit.. I already can see my skin and tooth better.. Sometimes the craving is tough but learn every day! Thanks again
