Has anyone ever tried to detox after quitting smoking?  I am considering it due to my anxiety attacks. I called my local hospital to register for the smoking cessions, but she informed me that no one has ever registered :(  I thank God for this site because I don't think I could make it day by day without it.

Hi again Kimberly ,

Sorry I missed the part of your post that you suffer anxiety attacks.  There are a lot of people on site that will be able to help you with that.  Medication and / or counselling can help panic disorder  and/or PTSD and connecting with peer support online is really comforting .  Stay strong ... Well done Kimberly. That's amazing no clinics at the hospital. GP Health Centre , maybe ? Anxiety attacks are really awful , talking from experience. If they get that bad go and see GP as he may prescribe meds temporarily just to break the cycle of attacks. It worked for me. I also had breathing tapes to listen too , like meditation ones which teaches you to relax your whole body. If they start to take over don't be afraid to speak to GP. It may be because you are in the early weeks, and these will pass.

My GP told me to carry a small paper bag around with me and breath in and out when an attack came on. Not sure where you would get paper bags now, not seen them for years lol :) Stay strong you have done Fantastic and stay close to this site, especially when you are feeling bad, as always someone here to speak too
