Need a little info: does stopped smoking cause... - Quit Support
Need a little info
Hi dizzy, we are all different in our quits, however, yes quitting smoking can cause anxiety and depression at various stages of our quit. Like all symptoms of quitting, they should ease and disappear 😊
There are a number of pinned posts so have a browse, you may find some of them useful 😊
Hi Dizzy, it's kind of unfortunate that the majority of us go through what can be described as some form of grieving process when we quit smoking. I would strongly suggest that if you have a history of depression and anxiety that you go see your GP early in your quit to get support. Long term you won't have the anxiety of "needing' to smoke but short term it will be tough and is not to be underestimated. That said it will be one of the best things you can ever do for yourself so definitely go get that help and good luck x
Good advice ... 'been there and glad I consulted professionals.,
Hi Dizzy
The answer to your question is yes but, but, you are in your early stages of quitting and your body and mind are going through a vast change at the moment Plus you say you have suffered from anxiety and depression before you quit, soooo, just give it time and lets see if it gets any easier for you
Dizzy, as our lovely LilyMay has said, if you think something isnt right, then please nip to your GP even if its just to put your mind at ease
Like our lovely Droopy has said, if you look to the right of your post, you will see Pinned Posts click on view more and you will see a post about depression, have a look at that

You're doing really well with your quit and should be very proud of yourself, don't be afraid of asking your Doctor for help if things get on top off you. Being a new Dad can be stressful at times so if you need to let off steam, we're always here to listen😊x
