I start the 14mg patches tomorrow! Will it be easier for me to quit since I've only been smoking for 4 months...

I started out smoking once a day for about a month, then 2-3 the next month, eventually I got up to 6-8 a day. Will it be easier for me to quit?

Hi landryhop101 and welcome to quit support.

Good on you for wanting to quit smoking. We all quit differently, so i am not sure if it will be easier or not.

What is great is that you are quitting before the number you smoke continues to grow so good on you for that :) :)

The cravings are different for all of us, but we have a mantra that we use and that is NOPE = Not One Puff Ever...Keep telling yourself this when you get the urge for a cigarette.

We have a great quit support group here and if you do have any questions or need a little support, come online and just give us a shout :) :)

Believe on your ability to be a non smoker and you will be one :) :)

Hiya Landryhop, good for you hun wanting to quit before it really grabs you 😆 if I hadn't smoked and saved all my money I could have bought house outright..... I'm gutted that I didn't have the foresight to quit at the beginning....instead of continuing for 35 years...

Good luck with the patches and make sure you take them off at least 30mins before you go to bed and make sure you put the patch on different areas of skin each day 😆

Hi Landry

There is not one person on here who doesn't wish they were where you are now. Some of us have smoked for decades. Unable to give up something that actually has no benefit at all.

You can see by your own admission how you slowly upped the number every day. You will have got to the point where you could fit 20 in a day or possibly 30. Costing you £10. Having to find a safe place to smoke. Avoiding family and friends who don't like you smoking. Planning on not running out, Feeling desperate when you are down to the last two

All for the sake of burning a tube of dried leaves coated with chemical, that give you a little buzz that goes after half an hour.

Read our stories on here, how much it can control and cost you and the only thing I can guarantee that cigarettes will do is ruin your health if you let them.

Stop, stop as soon as you can and never go back and you will be thankful

Love

Jim X
