Hiya Chubby, well done for not giving in and you would have been sooo disappointed if you had one. Be very proud of yourself coz Mr nic is tempting you back, he doesn't go without a fight. You are stronger than him and you showed him that you're the boss👍 you won the battle today and you're doing brilliant. I know it's not easy but it's really worth it and I can promise you it will get easier, so hang in there hun😊x

Tbh you've got this far without it which is terrific and so if it were me I'd say just keep doing what you're doing BUT if there's the slightest chance then ya cud have nrt on standby 😊x

Aup Dot :)

If you like chewing gum, then it just might be worth getting some nicotine gum, just for those really bad times eh :) cos if it helps keep you smokefree, then its worth paying a few £s :) :) but please only get the low dose one perhaps the 2 mg :)

Did look at buying nic gum not sure what strength as I didn't realise they varied , but didn't bother as I was wondering if I would hate it as I tried it before and really didn't like the taste.

Hoping tomorrow will be easier. :)

Hi chubby, so pleased you didn't give in and it's such a lovely feeling afterwards, knowing that you didn't relapse.

The cravings get easier as time goes on but for me its learning to live with them and not panicking because they do pass.

I could still kill for a smoke when I'm stressed or upset - old habits die hard.

I deal with cravings by remembering the NOPE mantra, chewing gum, treat myself to something nice, comeing on this forum and going over the quit timeline.

Take care

Kas

HI chubby

I am so proud of you for staying in control :) :) and you should be very proud of yourself.

Mr Nic will continue to pay a visit from time to time.. you just have to be stronger than his pull to get you smoking again :) :)

smoking doesnt help stress or do any good in any way. I am not sure about others but since i quit smoking almost a year ago, i have a calmness that i never had while smoking.

Brighter days are coming your way :) :)

Hi Chubby

I actually mix the NRT gum with ordinary gum . As the flavour wears of the NRT I add another ordinary gum. Its probably a placebo. But somedays I might only ever have 3-4 pierces of NRT as I simply forget.

This has really taking the edge off the craving for me 4mg can be really strong ( make you hiccup or feel burning.) The 2mg is the good all rounder.

Did try lozenges but found they gave me heart burn. The strips worked really well but are very expensive.

Hi chubby, your doing fantastically well 😆😆 I would prob make sure you have normal chewing gum or some mints in your pocket for emergencies 😆😆

A craving is just a thought, it`s not real. So it helps to objectify it ,

As example think of what color it is, what shape, what it might say, it`s texture, if it moves or static.... etc., and once you have it put it in a box, lock it up, seal it and push it over a cliff. this is an example, so whatever equates with you, but hope you get the idea ?

Once it is something tangeable, you can then get rid of it. Don`t worry if it doesn`t happen at first, just keep at it and it will help.

Also, imagine yourself in a few months , see all the differences in you , all the benefits you have gained, and keep that locked firmly in your mind. What you think, your mind directs you towards . again, keep working at it
