Welcome kayla😀
Congratulations on your decision to quit😃
Quitting smoking can be quite scary as our body adapts to not having all those nasty chemicals sucked into it and we may experience lots of different side effects of quitting.
As the lovely Emjay and Glolin have posted we are all here to help and support each other😀
If it's any consolation the side effects do go and it does get easier. My hubby still smokes and I thought it would interfere with me quitting but I think it made me more determined 😊
You can do this, good luck 🍀🍀
Xx

Hi Kayla,
Congratulations to you and well done.
I am six days away from a year quit and was quite a bit stunned by the various "side effects" of the quit: weight gain, bad dreams, sleeplessness, skin issues and lots of blah, blah, blah that no one really tells you to expect. HA! Perhaps because they don't want to scare you OUT of quitting.
One of my dear friends is a pharmacist and she scolded me a bit for complaining about the above: "let's see...you poisoned yourself for 30+ years and actually expect the withdrawal to be flawless?" It shut my big yappy mouth up as I realized how right she was.
The good news outside of being fatter + sleeping less....I can breathe again. Breathing. Isn't that a lovely word?! It sure feels good.
This place will be a God send to you in your journey as it has been mine. The good humor and good will is tremendous.
Take good care.
Aup Leta, its lovely to see you
Dont worry, I will be out and about stumbling over them there fields next week trying to catch your new Winners badge ermmmm, is it a 10 months Winners badge you want
Your Pharmacist friend is spot on gal I'd never thought of it that way before
Take care now and see ya soon
Pete
Hi Pete,
One year on 28th day of this month. Sheesh, allmighty. What a journey. Seems silly to think of smoking in such an elevated state, doesn't it???
Sending you love and good wishes.
Ooh, it's so nice to see so many reaching great milestones and still here to encourage whenever possible
I know what you mean about fatter, I put on a staggering 5 stones during my quit but am now on the road to recovery there too having lost 1stone 3lbs in the last 8 weeks. Can also walk more miles and it's my legs not lungs that give out
This has to be the best quit site ever and as far as I'm concerned the administrators deserve a whacking great medal for everything they do
