Hi ya JB1976, its lovely to meet you and a big warm welcome to this lovely quit support forum
Rite, JB, you say your lungs are on fire, doesnt this tell you anything
JB, you dont tell us much about you so all I can say is to, sit yourself down, take some deep breaths and try to calm down a bit eh
Try cupping your hands over your nose and mouth and breathing through them
Now your sat down, I would like you to write a list of the WHY's you want to smoke and the benefits of it Be honest with yourself !
My friends smoke, it makes me feel big, it helps with my problems, Try to think what part of smoking you like the most ??
Now, write down the WHY's you dont want to smoke as in firery lungs etc etc
and again, be honest with yourself !
Ask yourself, do I smell nice ? can I taste food ? can I run for the bus ? can I walk up the stairs without getting out of breath ?
JB, if you would kindly let us into yourself more, then we could perhaps help you more eh
JB, we are here to help you, not to judge you or tell you off in any way or form, just to help you if we can
Pete

The administrators on this site have good suggestions.
We all go through the coughing stage as your lungs are healing but that's hard to believe.
My lungs hurt and I coughed when quiting.
They feel really good after four months not smoking which can trick one into thinking they can have just one but NO we can't.
Smoking is not gonna help at all. Any thing can be done better, including healing from the damage, by not smoking.

Here is my favorite site and this discusses your lungs healing:
Joel has free videos and free PDF books.
I read and watched everything he had on his site and then quit cold turkey.
It's proven to be the most successful long term method but it's not for everyone.
All your body is healing, including lungs. So focus on the benefits of the healing process and how much better you will eventually feel.
Think , if your lungs had a voice what they would say to you, as they are improving daily and how grateful they now are. You are giving them a spring clean and getting rid of the debris is doing the best that you can do for them.
Stay strong.
