Sitting watching TV with a cup of coffee and really missing not being able to have a cig.

Can't seem to stop thinking about having a smoke tonight.

Just when you think you're getting on top of it the cravings return!!

Hope everyone else is having a smoke free, craving free evening.

Kas xx

Hiya Kas, yep I know exactly what ya mean :)

I found it hard to have coffee for a long while coz I was sooo used to the two things going together but I did get used to it and so will you :)

It's definitely a roller coaster journey this quitting and with plenty of ups and downs to keep us on our toes :(

You are doing a fantastic job, so give yourself a pat on the back coz it's not an easy thing to do :)

Just remind yourself how far you have come and how well you have done :)

You are now a non smoker.................FANTASTIC :) x

Thanks all for the encouragement. Feeling a lot calmer now.

It's strange how the urge becomes all consuming at times.

Just need to keep telling myself it will pass.

Hi ya Kas :)

I hope you had a better day today :) :)

Sometimes during our quit journey, we think to ourselves, its just flippin hopeless and it would be much easier to give in and have a fag :o :(

This is what mr nic is like :o he is very devious and cunning !! he just waits until your on a bit of a downer day and flippin strikes !! hard and puts the flippin boot in too :o cos he knows this is his chance to win you back to his evil ways and get you smoking again :(

You have to really fight him at these times :) keep strong and focused :) and when it has passed, give yourself a big flippin cheeeeeer and hold your head up high and feel very proud of yourself for achieving what you have set out to do, and that is beating that flippin mr nic :) :) He will then get weaker and weaker and you will get stronger and stronger as you go through your quit journey :) :)

Please stay intouch Kas :) :) xx

Thanks Monky, better day today thanks.

You're right, a bit of a weak moment and he's back with avengance.

I have quit for as long as a year previously and the cravings were still there.

I think I'm learning to accept the urges will always pop up from time to time but to be strong as they do go away.

Thats the way to go Kas :) :)

But please remember to treat yourself to something nice :) :) cos this will register in your mind :) as in - if you beat mr nic, you will get rewarded with something nice :) :) erm, if that makes sense :o

Its funny Kas, it was sooooo flippin easy to start smoking wasnt it Kas :( but to quit it, is a different matter :o

The fags brain washed us, soooo now we have to brain wash ourselves to fight them :) :)

Stay strong Kas, cos we will get there in the end :) :)

Pete :) xx

Hey Kas, how are you feeling today? :o

Cravings are funny little things that seem as huge as an elephant when they come knocking at your door - sometimes they don't even knock - they just trample right in! :o :o

However, cravings really are a positive sign of recovery and won't last for ever. So if you can keep this in mind, it should help to keep you on track.

Here's an old post that we put up a while ago, have a little goosey gander at it;

healthunlocked.com/quitsupp....

Remember, the cravings don't last forever and whether you smoke or not, they will go away :-)

Stay strong and remember that you can do this :-)

I hate the way the cravings creep, and I am not sure they ever fully go away, I have been fine but on holiday i was driven to distraction one day because i wanted a real smoke :(

Fought though it and pleased i did, but that is 10 months down the line nearly! Stupid mind tricks lol x

How long have you been stop smoking now? Well it's not really that easy to stop. Just be patience and have that discipline to not go back with the habit. Anyway, there are other smoking alternatives nowadays you can consider as well to help you quit the habit for good. Good luck to you!

About 5 weeks now. Some days are easy but other days the cravings are really overpowering. Think I'm learning now to ride with urges as they do pass.

Good luck with your journey

Five weeks is a good achievement already. Why not try other activities that will help you to stay away from having a smoke like joining sports or clubs that empower a good purpose. I mean, get more physical. You can enjoy and at the same time, you will get healthier.
