Hello everyone,

44 days without smoking by now and I feel great. the only problem is the gums. 've Talked about it here and there seems to be those who have had the same symptoms. In my case they swell a bit - especially among the lower teeth but not hurt nor sagram (?). How long should I wait to find recourse to the dentist?

Carry On!

I'd say that if they're bothering you, go see the dentist. I know it costs money but you'll be awash with the money you've saved by not smoking :)

You've had this problem for several weeks - they aren't going to laugh at you and will probably congratulate you for giving up smoking.

What is stopping you? Do you fear/hate dentists?

Hi Dinis

I had the most sensitive teeth and gums for about 3 months, they were bleeding and sore. It has eased off but I made sure I brushed with sensitive toothpaste and also flossed daily (I've always been a bit hit and miss with the floss..).

Yesterday I went to the dentist as my crown had come off and was told that it takes a while for the teeth and gums to recover from all those toxins that we have abused our mouths with... Mine are still not fully recovered :(
