Hi ya Heatherlp9, a great big warm welcome to this lovely site and a massive well done you for reaching 23 days quit
As for withdrawals, yep, we've all been there or are doing it
May I ask when you find it the hardest ? and how you are quitting, have you got any help ? please
Pete
I am having MANY.... The top two right now are skin eruptions, on my face and body and sore mouth..bleeding gums, my old crown that i had is killing me, very sensitive in my mouth. I think ive sluffed two or three layers of skind inside my mouth!!!! I am having some anxiety and headaches but they are better this week... Last week was something awful!!!!! I am using a vape pen, and its working fine for me, i have a flavor that works for me and Im down to 4mg nicotine, but these witdrawls suck. Im staying strong though!!
Hi Again Heather, yep, there are quite a few members on here who suffered with skin eruptions, and a lot who have had sore mouths and bleeding gums also the anxiety and headaches are quite common too, but please if they dont go within a few days, maybe go see you doc, just to be on the safe side eh
Yes I know they flippin, flippin suck, but we just got to stay focused and strong, dont let Mr nic get the better of you
We can help each other thats what this site is all about, cos i tell you, you are helping me rite now
Heather I was spotty, my crown fell out and on sunday I broke my tooth...... my teeth have been killing me... really sensitive and I always use a sensitive toothpaste.. it's only calmed down in the last 10 days or so but we are all different so hopefully yours wont go on for as long
How bizarre! I had a very similar experience. It was almost like rubbing salt into the wound when the first months savings from quitting smoking go straight to the dentist. I still need to use sensitive toothpaste. I suspect the cigarettes were putting a protective coating on my teeth.
Hang in there Heather. On the plus side, the tougher the withdrawal symptoms the less likely the incentive to lapse & put yourself through it all again. You should find it getting easier from now on.
So weird, because today was much better with the tooth pain, i need to get it addressed, so i have scheduled an appointment, but its not as excruciating as it was in the past few days... and your right!!! it is an incentive to never smoke again that nasty tobacco!!
Hi Heather, glad you feeling abit better today and you've past the 3 week point so things will start to get better, well done x
Sounds like you turned the corner Heather. So happy for you.. Bravo !!!! You're a WINNER !!!!. I am smoke free for about 2 weeks and suffering big time. My mouth is on fire and feel like I want to pull out my 4 front teeth which have caps on them. I just pray its not an underlying problem that cigarettes masked and its just withdrawal symptoms. I do not want to go to the dentist I have been though so much the past 2 years with the oral surgeon. Not looking forward to any extractions. Im going to think positive glad IM NOT SMOKING vaping and its helping a lot. Wishing you the best keep up the good work.. This forum is great Thank you all..
