Hi there tinks66, First of all well done on getting to 2 weeks. and welcome to quit support. The answer to your question varies on each individual. Usually the first 2 weeks are the hardest ,however cravings can come and go anytime. Also it depends if you have nicotine replacement or going cold turkey.
One definate thing is it is well worth the quit no matter what old nic throws at you.
Please keep us posted.
Hi tinks, welcome to this helpful site and well done for 2 weeks not smoking I think the first few weeks can be very difficult. I was still dreaming about cigs at that stage and thinking about them an awful lot. Can I ask you if you are using any nicotine replacement or not? Hang in there anyway as it's absolutely the very best thing you can do for your health
Hi briarwood I am using an ecig which is my crutch I do still think about lighting up but I don't want to be weak
I'm using ecig as well and there are times I want to light up as well but I don't want to have to start all over again. It's nothing to do with being weak believe me but it is very hard and we all need help. So stay with us and we can help one another on this difficult journey
I will do I am so determined to succeed great to know there is lots of support
Hi Tinks and well done for hitting the 2 week mark smoke free, I too gave up using the Ecig, and I was def still thinking about the real ciggies at the 2 week point, but just kept telling myself that the nicotine i require is in the ecig, so i didnt need a real one.
I am struggling to get my nicotine down, i am still on the full strength, but the way i see it, well its better than actually smoking.
Stay strong and soon you will be getting your 4 week badge xx
I think using the ecig has made this quit easier than previous attempts using patches and or inhalator. I use the ecig a lot. And feel like I am still smoking really. Its the sucking and blowing as much as the nic, I think? Skin is looking a lot clearer I think, and chest much better. I do wonder if I'll ever be able to get off the ecig??? Feels counterproductive to worry about that just now. It is soooo much better than the fags poisons. So, glad to have this nrt, and as long as I have it, I don't feel the need for cigs.
Stay off cigarettes. Best thing you can do for yourself ever. No More Cigarettes.
Good luck Tinks x
Hi Tinks, Congrats on 2 weeks quit, I to use an e-cig have done from day one, and I have managed to reduce nic level down to 1.0 at the moment, Stay strong, you CAN do this with the help on this lovely forum, we are all in it together. Take care,
I think I struggled more from 2 to 3 nearly for weeks, couldn't sleep and if I did having nightmares and dreaming of cigs and thinking of them constantly but now I think about it the last two weeks have been loads easier even though I've dropped my Nic down in my e cig from 1.8 to 1.0, so stick with it, it will pass and also a massive well done to you
Well done u!!! My sister and I stopped at the same time and we both felt different at different times. Lots of ups and downs but with each one it gets easier. Stick in there. Xxx

Hi emjay, thank you for your support it is much appreciated, one reason why I am so determined to do this is I lost my mum to lung cancer and it was the most awful thing to see it really frightened me,the support on this forum is brilliant I am using an ecig which is a great help, thank you tinks
Hi Tinks, have been smoke free now for 8 weeks tomorrow, at 2 weeks l still thought a lot about picking up a ciggie but was on patches and occasional 2 mg gum(about 4 a day), cannot use an e-cig as they make my breathing worse but l have copd , am off patches for a week now due to skin irritation so am using gum only and sometimes not the 2 mg but the 4mg thro l try to keep those down to minimum of 4 a day, do not think of picking up ciggies at all in fact met my son the other day and was able to take one of his cigs(he did'nt believe l'd just done 6 weeks +) and was able to put it back in the pack with absolutely no desire to smoke it...none whatsoever.Keep going, it'l get easier l promise.
When I'm in your situation, I feel the urge and crave for cigarette. But I stick with my decision to quit it for good. Thanks to e-cigarette because it helps me in some way to completely leave the habit of traditional cigarette smoking. Right now, I'm getting the satisfaction I want from e-cig with its satisfying flavors too!
