50 Days today.

Well I've got to 50 days today with my e cig and the last 3 days have been quite difficult. I haven't picked a 'cancer stick 'up,but my thoughts have been around-Was it that bad?

Of course it was and I know what damage has happened as a result of smoking.I know that 45 years of being addicted to them and the obsessive thoughts and actions won't leave me that quick.I'm glad I have done a list of positive things around not smoking.

Its has been a struggle but I'm able to manage this 'One day at a time'.I am not willing to keep stop/starting with this and will have to fasten my seat belt when the obsessive thoughts come.To be honest,I think the novelty of my e cig has worn off now but I shall continue. Thanks to this site and reading the posts lets me know that this too shall pass.Rucsack or wheel chair-my choice.I need to get out in the fells again.Phew. Thank you.

Hi surrendertowin, Huge congrats on 50days :-) Oh and I love scenic pic, I remember a Doctor saying to me once, ' You either want to be a poorly old lady or a healthy one ' and as I get older those words ring out in my head !!!

So yes I will do it Now, and hopefully be healthier, :-) in older age.

Huge congrats on the 50 days.LOVE the picture.I'm at around the 11 or 12 week Mark using an ECig & I still struggle but as you rightly say 45 years of smoking leaves,a,fairly lasting impression.I smoked for about 40 years & find that it's more the memory of smoking that I miss rather than the cigarette itself (does that make sense??) First Times, first Christmas, first holiday etc without cigs I find really hard but just remember that we 're all with you on this journey & just think of how much good you're doing yourself.Be very proud.

Surrendertown, bit late with my comment but just wanted to say well done you are a star. Hope you are feeling a bit more positive now as we all have bad days where all we can think of is nasty nic. Please be vigilant, I stopped smoking for 6 months but started again for 4 months. I was very ill and stopped again and am now 5 weeks into my new quit. Wiser now so won't trip up again. Good luck.
