Hello everybody I’m new here. I spoke to a lovely lady from the PSPA yesterday who told me of this amazing community. Basically I lost my Nan on Friday to PSP and we have her chair raiser that was granted to us that unfortunately we cannot return due to them not being able to accept it back and it seems such a shame to just take it to the tip so we were wondering if anyone out there suffering from the disease could make use of it. We are based in maidstone, Kent. If anyone close by would like it. I’m not sure how much it would cost to post but I can definitely look into it. I will also upload photos. This chair raiser most definitely helped my Nan a lot when she started struggling with mobility as it made sitting down and standing up a lot easier as the chair was heightened by using it. Thank you for taking the time to read and hopefully someone can make use of it xx

Hi Lauren, Sorry to hear about your nan losing her battle with this horrible illness. If you have no takers of the raiser on this forum, may I suggest that you look on facebook for your local mobility thrift. We have a fantastic one 'Greater Manchester Mobility & Disability Equipment Thrift' which I have both donated to and gained equipment from and items are usually gratefully accepted very quickly. It's a nice thing to do x
Where I live in South West London there is a group for independent living and also a group like Age Concern, now renamed here in Kingston as Staywell. Groups such as these should be able to help. My husband died last August and all bits of equipment, including chair raisers, were collected by the local authority ( social services / social care ) very quickly except for sliding sheets. Chair raising equipment is very helpful for old people generally, particularly those who’ve had knee or hip replacement surgery.
