Chair for CBD

Hello everyone

Please delete this post if it's not allowed. Before my family sell elsewhere, I thought I'd post it on here.

My nan suffered from CBD and had a chair designed specifically for her disease and costs 2,800 to buy new.

If anyone is interested please message me

Xx

Hi Keiramurphy

I'm sorry for your loss.

It's horrid getting rid of the things which our loved ones needed to get by.

But, for others sake, I feel I should say there is no chair, that I have ever heard of, specifically designed for PSP/CBD.

Though I expect it's a seriously good orthopaedic chair.

I wish you well.

Kevin

Thank you. I know it's very difficult.

Is there not?? I'm so sorry, the home told my Grandad it was.

I'm sure someone will be grateful for it.

Disabled stuff is so damnably expensive when new.

But, more that that - Getting rid of stuff is very painful... another sad goodbye.

My heart goes out to you all.

Maybe designed for her types of symptoms? In any case it is sure to be something someone will want. It looks good!

Sorry for your loss. That looks like quite a chair. Great thought to put it to good use. Can you tell us how it works and where it’s located to see if it is useful for others?

We are struggling trying to get my Mum a suitable chair that meets all her needs via the social team. That does look impressive indeed, the head and torso support look just like what we require. Do you mind if I share the photo with them?

We don't have the funds to buy this from you directly though sorry. I hope you are able to find a new owner as it looks very good.

Hi, looks like a Careflex Hydroflex made in Devon. I have been looking into buying one for my wife (CBD) as the sides come in and give greater support all around. Our local daycare centre has one that my wife uses and her OT has agreed one would be beneficial at home and has ordered one to made specially for her, paid for by NHS! Sorry not much help to you, I was looking on eBay and there was a couple for sale but much too wide around £1000 so don’t expect too much.

Thank you all. Yeah its hard to sell her things, we only selling this as my Grandad was trying to before he sadly passed away and insisted it to go to someone who needed it.

The make is phoenix. I have more pictures but it won't let me Load them on this thread now. I'm located in North Wales in wrexham. my mum said she could deliever depending on location. If anyone wants her number, she's more than happy to go into detail about it. Xx

I've heard of the phoenix make of chair. I hope it helped your Nan when she used it.

I'm going to let our OT know what it is called and see if she agrees it is suitable for Mum. We've had funding agreed now for a new chair.

She didn't go in it that much tbh as she was very poorly at that time but the times she did, it was great. She didnt go out for 12 months due to being bed bound, but My Grandad use to be able to take her for walks and in the garden. Any other chair she tried just wasn't suitable, it did take months to get it though x

I've been trying since February to get a suitable chair! I've now

given the name of Phoenix to the woman saying I want an assessment with this chair.

Big hugs
