Although this is my first post, I have regularly used the forum as a source of information & taken comfort that we as a family were not alone.
My beautiful & fiercely independent mum died this week after a short battle from aspiration pneumonia caused by PSP. Mum was diagnosed only 1.5 years ago, although symptoms were prevalent for much longer and early signs apparent from 2019.
As a thank you to this community, I would love to gift the bed to someone with PSP or CBD for a donation of their choosing to the PSPA. If you are interested or would like more information then please contact me. I will caveat that the recipient would need to arrange collection & transport (we purchased through Opera Beds who may be willing to do this for a charge). The bed is currently located just outside Glasgow.
I wish everyone well on their own family’s PSP journey. It really has been an emotional rollercoaster but it has been an absolute honour to care for my mum. I just hope & know I did her proud.

I am sorry to hear about your mum What an amazing gesture and I would urge anyone to consider this opportunity which would also benefit the pspa. We have been very lucky to be provided with one of these by our OT for my husband and I can echo how useful these are
wow. How kind. I would love to avail myself of your very kind offer but I have no independence these days so feel it would be wasted on me. A few months ago I may have jumped at the chance. I’m sure someone out there will take you up on your amazing offer. Finally, so sorry for your loss; please remember mum how she was before this appalling condition took hold c
I'm sorry for your loss. Thank you for the very generous opportunity. I've looked at these amazing beds in the past and considered them too expensive, not knowing for how long it would get used - for my husband I think the useful window has been & gone but whoever gets it will be helped in so many ways.
You are clearly a very loving caring daughter, and it's very kind of you to think of the PSPA and the PSP community at this difficult time. Wishing you comfort - and joy as you reconnect with the memory of your mum prior to the disease. 🫂🌈
Hi Kathryn so sorry for your loss. My husband has this horrible disease and we are just gearing up for the next stage, I would be very interested in this bed if it’s still available, we are in central Scotland so collection wouldn’t be a problem and I am happy to make a donation to the PSPA. Let me know if it’s still available. Kind regards Px
