Spring Day in Maine

easterncedar profile image
48 Replies

I went into the office today.

Not too many cars in the parking lot. We are generally working from home.

I hope all is well with you all, whatever your weather - I do love the snow.

Be safe and well, friends. Love and Peace,

Easterncedar

We didn’t have winter in Philadelphia this year. I think there was one snow storm that dropped 2.5 inches. That was it. Now we are into late April early May as far as the plants are concerned.

I would not like that winter!

Stay well EC

That looks a tad chilly... but peaceful.

Bright sunshine and warm here... 62F... Wishing you some of that.

Looks lovely but please don’t send it to the U.K. We have been told to avoid going out and keeping two metres away from everyone so have spent lots of time in the garden when not on the phone, FaceTime etc. Take care and keep well and may spring come to you soon XxxX

I am getting there, I have a new counsellor she is wonderful, it hit me so hard that I needed her to help

Me out of a black cloud. How are you doing lovely lady? Xxxxx

easterncedar profile image
easterncedar in reply toYvonneandgeorge

Glad you have a counsellor you like. I'm doing okay. Coming home to an empty house was awful for the first two months, threw me back into my unfinished grieving over my sweetheart. One thing about this crisis, it's consuming free-roaming thought. Plenty of immediate worries to face. Love, Sarah

Please, try to do homework.

Stay at home without exception.

If you need, go out with mouth and nose protection.

Take care. Hugs

EC, wash your hands properly, wipe your shoes on before entering home. Be careful

easterncedar profile image
easterncedar in reply towear1947

Never fear, I am careful. I have nurses in the family and I am mindful of how the brunt of this is borne by the heroic healthcare workers. Living alone now, so I can do some of the office work I wouldn't ask my staff to do.

Bought a dog to keep me company. Now trying to train him :) Not easy. Having issues with my back, which I have had for a long time. Going to the Dtr tomorrow for the results of my MRI. Told them I would sign in and then wait outside until it is my turn. Think it is the prudent thing to do. Take care !

easterncedar in reply toSatt2015

Dear Amanda! Great to hear from you. I hope you are well. I'm still trying to get my feet back under me after the recent death of my mother. I am grateful I had her so long - she had her 93rd birthday with me - but I miss her terribly. She would have made me keep my chin up! How about you? Love, Sarah

Satt2015 profile image

Bless you Sarah, you must miss her soooooo much!!

I’m ok at the moment, just taking each day as it comes and obviously very worried as is the whole world!

Keep thinking we will get through this somehow

Sending hugs lovely lady x

Hi, How are you doing ? Not a fan of snow :) 84 here in Fl. Staying home, not doing much of anything.

easterncedar in reply toAuddonz

Audrey! How nice to see your message come up, it's been ages. I'm fine, rather guiltily enjoying my privilege, able to work from home for the most part, keeping quietly to myself. How are you, aside from the temperature outside? I've got a sister in Sarasota who is suffering in the heat, too I prefer the snow!

Audrey how are you been thinking about you lovely lady, hope life is treating you better xxxxx

Auddonz profile image
Auddonz in reply toYvonneandgeorge

Hi Yvonnne, I wish life was treating me better. My daughter has decided not to speak or see me at all. I haven't a clue of what her issues are but of course I can't see my grandchildren either. No contact with any of them. It hurts, I always knew she had a mean streak and now it is my turn. I may take her to court.

Yvonneandgeorge profile image
Yvonneandgeorge in reply toAuddonz

Oh Audrey that’s sad, after all you have been through, not to be able to see your grandchildren is not good. Where are you living, I remember you where living with your daughter. Very sad for you xxxx

Auddonz profile image
Auddonz in reply toYvonneandgeorge

Yes Yvonne, I was living with her and her family. She came over to me one day and told me she could not afford her house anymore and I had to move out. I bought a small house, it is sufficient for just me. I just don't understand her at all. xoxo

Yvonneandgeorge in reply toAuddonz

So sad I hope you can sort it out with her, thinking about you. Yvonne xxxx

Yvonne, I haven't spoken to her in over a year. She won't answer my texts, calls or emails. I sincerely doubt it. Audrey xoxo

Hey Audrey, lovely to see that you are still dropping in now and again.

Sorry to hear about your problems though, as if there is not enough anguish in the world, without families joining in.

Hope you are keeping safe.

Sending big hug and much love

You are in California? How are things there? Staying in?

enjoysalud profile image
enjoysalud in reply toeasterncedar

Lots of rain which we need.

Yup, staying in except for market, bank, mechanic, and my early morning walk.

There are so many projects I've not had time to tackle....so keeping very busy, and yet not getting done with each day's list.

December is a blur now...I don’t recall if I heard that, but hugs of consolation to you. Two big losses in too few years. But you remind me of our member Jen from NZ: Kia Kaha ( stay strong) ❤️❤️❤️

I just saw this! I am so very sorry for your loss. How good for both of you that you were able to have her with you. My heart hurts for all the loss you have had to experience the past few years. You are a strong woman!

Looks lovely, but I dread to think of the social distancing problem, if we had of the white stuff. All the kids out on the hills with their toboggans.

Glad you are coping Sarah. Alway good to see you on the forum.

It didn't last. Folks, as far as I see, here are being good about distancing. I haven't seen a child in days.

Can believe you are white over and almost April, is that the norm there? Beautiful few days here after a very gloomy winter although there is a distinct chill in the air. We are virtually in lockdown here so everything is on hold, there is some heroic behaviour but also some appalling too. This is a tough time for everyone but especially those who have a loved one suffering the effects of PSP/CBD, I send you all a big hug and hope you are managing to get all of the support you need.

Sending love

Hard to say what constitutes normal weather anymore, but the see sawing seems strange. The snow melted under warm sun very quickly. I shoveled snow from the drive at noon then spent the afternoon working in the garden without a jacket. Not to complain, it was a lovely day.

Hi Easterncedar,

Beautiful! I miss snow. It's a balmy 63 degress at the beach in Southern CA. I only go out for supplies once a week and to walk the dog a few times a day. We are sheltering at home qnd use six feet social distancing when we encounter other people outside or in store check out lines. These rules are in place until May 1st...for now. I have been wearing a mask all along but now it is advised! Hard to believe it is happeing with all the sunshine and beauty around us.

I hope all of you out there, and all of your loved ones are ok. Be safe, take precautions.

We are truly all in this together. Much love to you & yours!

Jayne
