A hummingbird’s nest with two little eggs inside. In a couple of weeks we should have babies!
Forgot to mention that this is right outside my dining room window. Up close and personal 😊

So Cool. I'm jealous. Where do u live ? Must be in the south
You are so lucky. My favourite bird even though we don’t have them here. I’ll never forget having one humming in my ear as I sat outside a house I was staying in on Vancouver Island. The chicks must be so small when they first hatch. Enjoy watching their progress XxxX
Wow! How wonderful. Please keep us all up-to-date with their progress, if you can. It will be lovely to see that not everything in this world has gone completely crazy.
Lots of love
Anne
What a privilege to have a birds eye view of watching all the comings and goings of the adults editing their chicks. Very jealous. Xxx
I must approach the window very slowly and quietly or momma flies away. I don’t want to disturb her but I also can’t stop myself from observing and taking a photo op. I figured out that she might be reacting to my purple glittery phone cover. I switched the case out to a solid black one and she didn’t move. So yeah, I think I will be able to capture daily events now 🤗 At least it’s entertaining during lock down!
Hi Sewbears
That is so beautiful. More importantly that the bird has a special meaning to you.
We had collar doves in the Rowan tree outside my neighbours bedroom window last year. Unfortunately strong winds brought the tree to lean on my roof. The tree-fellers placed the nest in a tree next to my garden entrance. I knew the babies had little chance of survival as my cat sits on the wall next to the tree. Needless to say he ate the chicks. He had no need to as he is well fed but he couldn't resist the temptation.
Nature is cruel. I was very angry as I love collar doves. The worst was hiding the feathers from my neighbour as my cat ate them in the back garden. I know she expected this to happen but Echo could have been a little more discreet.
I hope you are keeping well during this horrible time and staying safe.
Love and hugs
Pat xx
How lucky. Just keep us up to date please. Something good in these horrible times x
Oh that is so lovely. We have a birdbox my husband made, on the May tree at the back of the house, which can see from our living room & bedroom and the bluetits have been in and out all weekend with nesting materials. He is feeling very proud of himself having made a home for them
How wonderful! Thanks for sharing. I used to have a house where phoebes nested under the eaves, and I was able to watch the parents tend their chicks. To see the little ones take their first flight was such a happy thrill for me.
Lifted my spirits how absolutely brilliant x
Wow! My first view of a hummingbird's nest was 48 years ago. It was in a large bush outside my livingroom window in Newhalem Washington. Your photo brought back some good memories. But from time to time we had had bears in our front yard.
Enjoy watching the grow & hopefully you can share more photos. Sending hugs... Granni B
