How are they not falling out? That's quite a hammock they've got going on there!

Aww, 2 great photos again, SewBears. It's going to be fairly soon now I guess when they'll be up on their feet, clinging to the bottom of the nest and practising getting those wings strong for flight. I read that they anchor their feet initially to stop them taking off before they are ready.

Here in the UK we have a weekly programme called Countryfile. Each year they run a competition and viewers are invited to send in their photos of a specific category to do with the countryside, which are judged for the following year's calendar. Out of the thousands of entries, 12 are chosen. I think for 2021 the category is landscapes. Anyway, your last 2 pics are at least as good as some of the entries I have seen in the past and shows that you don't always need an all singing all dancing camera to get some great shots.

So what are you going to do when these 2 chirp a fond farewell to their human mum - maybe walk the dogs a bit further - lol? It has been such a pleasure following their story.

Yes and the moment is looming when every bit of room in that nest will have been taken and then they have no choice but to get on their feet and prepare to leave. Mum will still feed them for a couple of days out of the nest, teaching them the best places to find bugs and nectar and then they are on their own. I feel ready now to apply for a place on Mastermind - my specialist subject - Hummingbirds - lol.

Wishing all a good a day as it can be.

Love Hils

Such a privilege that they chose to nest under your window and give a lot of people such joy xxx

Thank you again for sharing your babies with all of us. My hummingbirds have been coming here for forty years... so l think... eventually your babies will fly... and have many returns. Sending hugs... Granni B

Wouldn't it be nice to know if they did eventually come back as a parent themselves.

These pictures make my day!!! How intricate that nest is...Wonder how long it took the male and female to build? Sewbears did you see it being built? Birds are so smart...It will be sad to see them fly away...I wonder if the nest will get used again...So many questions!! Thank you letting us all share in this experience!!Liz....Love the names 'Razzle and Dazzle'!!

Good morning Liz,

I’m happy that so many folks are enjoying Razzle, Dazzle & Frazzles updates.

I witnessed the nest being built about a year ago but it wasn’t inhabited until now. At first it was flimsy and I wasn’t sure what it was until Frazzle became active again.

I’ve heard that the nest might be used for more than one season. I hope this will be the case but I’ve been around a lot and I’m not sure if Frazzle appreciates me hanging around so much. It’ll be interesting to see if they do use it again. I have a picture of the nest from when it was in my process of being built a year ago and I’ll try to post it.
