Interested in a support group based South Manchester/East Cheshire?

Hi we're thinking of setting up a support group for people in the South Manchester / East Cheshire area and are trying to gauge level of interest. The PSPA may already have been in touch with you, but if not please let me know if you are interested. At present the Sunflower Centre at East Cheshire Hospice in Macclesfield looks to be our likely venue, but does depend on where people are based.

Anyway let me know if you are interested.

Good Morning Alison... l hope all works out for your new support group. Congratulations for stepping up to the job of organizing. . .

I know it will be difficult for everyone to make all the meeting (for so many reason) but keep the time & location the same if all possible.

Please keep us posted about your progress. I live in the USA so l will not be able to attend, but will be there with you in spirit. Sending Hugs... Granni B

Wish I could take the credit Granni B but I was actually put in touch with a lady through the hospice who wants to set up the group, and I said I would help, so I am a helper rather than an instigator, but we need all sorts in this world and I can do my little bit. Thanks for your good wishes, fingers crossed it works out.

Hi

Great news. I would be happy to offer my help. Only live about 6 miles away.

Hi

That would be brilliant GAS-25, as they say many hands make light work. Our little group at the moment consists of myself and a lady called Val, who started the ball rolling. We have had an informal pub lunch meeting where we just discussed ideas about how to get the word out there to people who may not be known to the PSPA , hence my post on here. Val has developed a poster/flyer and we are asking GP surgeries if they would put them up on their noticeboards and are also asking the Carers Trust (Cheshire & Warrington) & East Cheshire Carers Hub if they can help publicise the group for us.

I'll message you privately to give you my email address and we can discuss further.

So pleased to have a positive response so quickly, you have made my day !

Brilliant :)

Yes I had a questionnaire through the post but did not get round to completing it. I/we would be interested but it depends what is going to happen at the group I have attended one previously at the neuro centre near Hope Hospital which was more .cial and information. We live in Hazel Grove and have previously attended the Parkinson Group in Macc. Hope this helps

Hi Catemac Thanks for getting in touch. I guess my question to you is what would you like to happen at the group? What would make a difference to you? The group is ours to shape as it's members see fit, so let us know your views and ideas about what role the group should play, as that would be really useful to us. Thanks again.
