With the camera on my window cill .............

I am going to miss these views so much next year when I move into a 24hr care home. I still hope to manage to take pictures with help and my view will be a large hill in the Brecon Beacons only 30 mins from my two daughters.

Wishing you all a good christmas,

Patrick. XXX

Nice picture! I like sunrises, especially when the weather is decent and I can sit outside with my coffee.

Dearest Pat,

I'm sorry to hear that next year you have to move but I look forward to seeing many a wonderful shot of the beautiful Brecon Beacons and I'm glad to hear you will be only 30 minutes away from your two daughters. You have been and remain an inspiration Pat. I hope you have a happy Christmas.

With love,

This is a recent decision Patrick? Sounds like a nice place, though making a move away from your home must be wrenching (if necessary)...Best of all it is near your daughters :-)

Nice pic. I'm betting you will find good views in your new place: the "finding" will be a good challenge as much as the "taking", eh?

Beautiful photo Patrick thank you for sharing.

Moving is always hard but good to be able to plan and have a choice where to move to. Moving nearer your daughters and grandchildren will be a bonus.

The Brecon Beacons are truly beautiful don’t forget your camera.

Take care of yourself

Wishing you a happy Christmas 🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄

I know that feeling Pat; I too am probably moving house in April. Now, I can just about manage to get to the sea, which is 100 yards away. The Llyn Peninsula is a magical place and often I take pictures. I can see the sea from the sitting room window too. Moving to a house a mile away - but inland - with adaptations and with more security, is good. But I know I'll miss being able to see or even reach the shore. I'll miss that connection with the elements, with nature, I'll miss the proximity. Now, I make the most of it. About to venture out in the storm; just to feel the wind. I probably will get about 25 yards down the street, but it feels near (the coastal path used to be a place I loved to go) ...

All the best and a very happy Christmas

Great shot as usual Patrick and I'm sure you will miss it but I think you are making a wise move as it must be tough trying to manage on your own with careers popping in. Breacon Beacons are beautiful and be lovely to be close to your daughters, I'm sure you'll being seeing plenty of them and their families. Well done for making that brave decision and I'm sure it will be just fine. Merry Christmas to you Patrick.

Thanks for all your comments.......... the room you have at the start of your stay will still be the room you are in when the inevitable comes, so could be very much like living at home..

Patrick,

I am glad you are going into a care home. I know from my experience with Ruth that you cannot do this alone. You are not beaten yet - good times still to come!

Have a good Xmas.

I was going to try to get my morning care to do lunch, supper and bedtime but I would then be tied down to specific times.........

A care home has many advantages when you live on your own.

You must not be on your own on this journey - mentally as much as physically. You are too young and good looking for a care home, but you are bound to find someone to have a beer or two with!

Wow Patrick that photograph is stunning . I love it.

At first I was sad to read that you were going to have to be moving from your home but then I saw how beautiful it is where you will be living . I am so glad you have found a wonderful place close to your daughters and that you have been able to choose it yourself. You will be safe and that's the main thing.

I hope everything went well with your BOTOX injection and you have felt the benefit from it.

I wish you a very happy and peaceful christmas lovely one and hope that the new year brings you comfort and love in your new home
