Funny in retrospect

On Sunday Mary was very lethargic and unresponsive. She has been prescribed Bacalofen to try and reduce her stiffness (doesn't work yet). The carers came in to get her up and I went out on my bike to grab a bit of exercise. When I returned the carers said they had called the doctor who said she would visit later. Mary stayed in bed all day. That evening the carers returned and when quizzed said their concern was mainly caused because Mary was not gripping and grabbing at everything. The same symptom which has been the bain of our lives! She had a mild UTI which has been cleared with antibiotics and thankfully her grip and grabbing are back.

I briefly tried Baclofen but found it did not help with my stifness in my left arm. The side effects gave me a fuzzey head .

Ruth was the same. Baclofen did not seem to help her jerky legs at night, but definitely left her feeling fuzzy-headed the next day.

My husband has tried Baclofen twice, in the last four years, but he did not find it helpful in reducing stiffness. The physical therapist administers about ten minutes of ultrasound to his shoulder and neck muscles before trying to exercise that area and it does make it more comfortable for him as he tries to stretch the muscles. Problem is, it doesn't last and an hour after we leave PT, he is back to Square One.

Thank you. I found massage only provided short term relief for Mary as well but she does like it. This infernal illness has many tricks. Rob
