It is sometime since I posted and good things have happened.
My youngest son got married, it was a great day with about 80 guests. My sister came over from the States and after the wedding we both had a few days staying near Bath. We managed to visit a few spots that I had been to while on my narrow-boat journeys, many good memories came to my mind of those times.
I am now having daily help with dressing and breakfast, I still manage to get to the shops but have to go very carefully.
After much thought I took the plunge and found a hotel just outside the old town of Faro in Southern Portugal....... I will be going in mid October for just a week. I have found a care company that will provide the same daily help as I am having here. It is so good to have something to look forward to and I have spent a long time 'walking around' on Google Earth street view...............
Love to all,
Patrick.

You are amazing Patrick and an inspiration to us all. So pleased you were able to enjoy the wedding and catch up with relatives as well as having a few days away.
You certainly have something to look forward to and I look forward to seeing the photos.
Pat, you are absolutely inspirational and when I feel down I just have to think of you! You impress me so much! Your pure strength shines through!! Thank you for sharing and I hope the sun shines for you in Portugal x
That's wonderful, Patrick. I'm sure your trip will be very pleasant. It's great that you were able to coordinate the care needed so you will be comfortable in a foreign land. Kudos to you.
Also congrats on your son's wedding. Such a handsome couple.
Well done Patrick: Clearly you are not letting the physical impacts of cbd keep you from living life. I admire you so much. I used to read your posts out to Garth as he'd started cbd more or less around the time you did, and he too enjoyed photography (as well as being the biggest anglophile ever
You are also very wise to make plans to do things so you have something to look forward to.
I'm cheering for you! (.. Where is that cheerleader emoji??..) 🙆
Patrick how great that you have had a happy event in your family and also got to go away with your sister. Now you are off to Portugal. You are an amazing person! You give inspiration to so many.
What a man, full of life and determination. Fabulous photo and memories to keep. Enjoy that holiday, I assume the Portugal is a special place to you. I'm glad that you get some help now Patrick, I know it made our lives a lot easier.
Patrick, you have just taken me back to Portugal when R was well. We sat at a harbour side eating freshly cooked sardines, gorgeous chunks or warm bread, washed down with the coldest lager I have ever tasted. Pure joy! May you continue to take these trips. Very best wishes. HilsandR.
