I get chronic cellulitis end up in the hospital. I was put in a maintenance does of penicillin. Had knee surgery on fri, by Monday started breaking out in hives. By Wednesday so bad ended up in the hospital. I felt like I was coming down with cellulitis. Thoughts?

I don't know what happens when you get cellulitis. However you might have an allergy to penicillin? Both my daughter and then my husband had that happen to them in the same year.

Because my husband was vomiting and had diahorea he recovered much quicker. My daughter looking back should have gone to A&E but didn't. I didn't realise she was ill as she didn't tell me.

However talking to her about what happened she should have seen a doctor. Not sure if you are still taking them now but you might need to change?

I had the same thought. . maybe an allergy to the penicillin?
