Can't stop coughing

My client has PSP and may have recently had a cold. Took her to PCP and he cave her clindamycin. I don't think it really did anything. She won't stop coughing. We suction and use a cough assist device. Swallowing is difficult for her. She has a feeding tube. Any suggestions?

Oh, I am sorry. I don't know what to suggest. My guy used to raise his arms above his head for a choking cough, and that worked, although he said it really helped him not to panic, having something to do.

Don't know what clindamycin is.

For my father's cough, we used Delsym cough syrup, loratadine (a non-sedating antihistamine), guaifenisin, a humidifier at night, and raised the head of the bed at night. I'd say the combo helped a little bit.
