Memories continued...

NannaB's post about memories has made me think of a few things/times that me and David had together, and follows on from my reply to that post. I saw this photo the other night when I was sorting out our respective photo collections and getting them all in one place on the computer.

This was a trip to Malta in December 2013, and I giggled at the thought that David had outlasted a ruddy great rock arch :)

It was strange to think NEITHER is here any more !!!

It was also the day that I knew something was really wrong with David. He was walking with his stick which he had been doing for ages, but for anyone that knows the site, there is an undulating rocky track to get to the viewpoint. David got a few steps onto it and just couldnt do it. He was scared of falling all the time. I think it took us about 20 minutes each way to do a walk that would normally take 2 or 3 minutes, with me holding onto him the whole way.

You might think this would make it a bad memory, but its a great memory because as you can see from the photo, we had the place to ourselves, which made for cracking photos... its not very often you go to a place that famous and can get a photo with no one else in it!!!

Lovely memory.. I know what you mean. I need to place those photos in my mind and remember what he still could do at the time. So they become good memories ! Its all relative, isn't it ?

It is. Since he died, Ive only seen the bad side. NannaB's post made me think beyond that for the first time, and this evening I have had a lovely time looking at all our pics. Hopefully something as simple as that will swing the tide back towards happier times :)

Hi Ratcliffe, Well Done! My daughter is a counsellor and does lots of bereavement counselling, (especially on me!!!) She says claiming back the mermories as part of your life, as well, is a huge step forward along our lonely journey. Steve took hours of videos, when we use to travel. I can now watch them with pleasure, not just hearing his voice, but in the delight of the good times I had, when we were together.

Keep looking at those photos and remembering!

Lots of love
