Came home today from my week in a lovely cottage 8 miles away! Worked really well, girlfriends popping in long walks with them, visited a couple of national trust houses, felt normal! Few tears along the way but i cannot dwell on negativity anymore. Spent two glorious days with this little fella , his mum and dad could complete their xmas shopping and go out for a lovely meal together. When you experience normal life you realise how much this illness takes everything from family life.
Enough moaning, rog well , gripped my hand so tightly on my return and tried a smile, next respite one in February , and i know I'll be ready.

Oh Julie sitting here tears in my eyes when you said about rog gripping your hand when you came home, George does that feel so guilty leaving him. Xxxxx
Good to hear you had a little bit of you time and normally - we all need it to keep going. Grandchildren are so special and bring so much joy and happiness .
Great to get a bit of normality isn't it Julie, my son and family were here at the weekend and I managed to take the two little ones to see Father Christmas with their mum whlst my son sat with Ben. I have a carer to sit for three hours twice a week, ben at hospice another day so get a bit of downtime to do what I please.
How old is that little man? He's very cute. As you say it brings home how much you are missing out on normal family life, not only are we robbed of our children an grandchildren, they are also robbed of their parents and grandparents.
Rog certainly sounded as if he was happy and relieved to have you back.
