Sponsored silence

Just wanted to share how wonderful my 10 year old daughter is, she's decided to do a sponsored silence next Monday and all money she raises is to go to the PSP Association!! Sadly my Dad, her Grandad, is suffering this horrid disease, she's seen him rapidly get worse in the last 12 months so wants to do her bit to help.

Bless her! Hope she manages to keep quiet for a long time and raises lots of money. I thank her, on behalf of my husband and all fellow sufferers.

Lots of love

How sweet! What is a sponsored silence? I wish her the best of luck. It sounds like you have one very lovely young lady who is conscious about the goings on around her

Good Luck with the money raising...

By Heady's reply, granddaughter must stay "mute" for as long as possible(?) I should get B involved, he could make a load of money doing that!!!

Hmmm, how is she monitored? does she have a "Silence Cam" on her making sure no sounds are made...or do we just trust her? i'm sure she is trustworthy, but in general how does one know how to monitor.....

Thanks for the answer,

That's brilliant. Well done her for trying to raise money to help others with PSP.

So sweet of her. I'm sure she loves her grandpa very much and hates this disease very much.

Looks like you have a wonderful caring daughter, it is so sad she has to witness this terrible illness in her grandad. Good luck with sound of silence. Nanny xx

Hi everyone, thank you for all of your comments, sorry its taken such a long time to up date you all. I'm delighted to say my daughter Olivia raised £500 for the PSP Association, we were all very proud of her. Sadly though my Dad, her Grandad lost his battle with PSP in April so we were all devastated as you can imagine. We can only hope that all PSPA continues doing the sterling job its doing and continues to help to find a cure and support those affected by it. We will certainly keep raising money and awareness even though Dads no longer suffering. Love and best wishes to all suffers and their loved ones who have to watch helplessly. xx
