At last !!! An official letter arrived this morning to inform me that "on this occasion " I have been excused from Jury service. I felt sure I would be ......but you just never know do you , and the stress was getting to me. It was an added thing to think about.

Thank you all for support and words of wisdom x

Congrats. I know you would have made a fine juror as you contemplated the best way to handle your case! You sought unbiased proof and weighed what would be best for the public and the defendant...

I'm glad that the powers that be saw sense and excused you. It probably took so long because i can imagine they had to Google PSP. Janexx

Oh there is still some sanity in this world! Thank goodness for that. I always thought you would be excused. But never really trust powers at B to do the right thing!

Don't know - there is some appeal in being forced to be somewhere else for weeks where you wouldn't be running around all day like a bl** a***d fly forever at someone else's beck and call .It would be like having enforced respite care .And then you could take out all your frustrations on the poor defendant and have him /her put away for a long sentence .....You could put in a financial claim for full time carers.................well maybe not - pleased it is sorted for you .

Oh Georgepa this made me smile, I would have quite enjoyed the duty but it was the thought of the chaos I would come home to ....and I would have needed 24 hour help to ensure I got sleep. Plus we are moving to a bungalow within a few weeks cause can't manage here any longer and can't get any help. Just all too much stress at present, they were not too swift in replying which added to the stress. Perhaps I should have played thick and booked 24 hour care and claimed on expenses!! You get fed as well !! It's only 5 years since I did it for 3 weeks, it's just random choosing , must be the name !!

Hope you are coping and have a reasonable weekend x

So, haven't heard all of your dilemma, but just recently, my hubby was called to jury duty too, he is in care, cannot walk, cannot talk, cannot do many things because of PSP. I called, they said just fill out the form and return it and he will be excused. nope, he was not. I had to get a doctors letter to prove he was incapable of jury duty, and they needed it

that day, ridiculous! anyway, he was excused eventually. Don't know where you are, but we are in Alberta, Canada. silly gov't!
