We have no experience of madopar but my husband has struggled to open his eyes for over a year now. Sometimes though, his eyes are wide open, then he has trouble closing them. Botox has been mentioned but he has turned it down.
So sorry about your mother. My sweetheart, who isn't taking madopar or anything like it, is increasingly losing his ability to keep his eyes open. I think it's a common effect of psp. He has also for now decided not to try Botox, but some folks on this site have had positive experiences with it. He might change his mind. It's a very troubling problem, isn't it? Wish I could be more help. Hang in there. Love and peace, Easterncedar
Not sure if it is the madopar as Rose (my sister) recently changed from sinemet to madopar and her eye closure has not got any worse, we manage to gently massage her eye lids and she will her eyes will open but never when prompted to and they don't stay open long. Good luck to you it is a dreadful disease. Take care.
My wife takes the maximum dose of madapor and she is great no deteriation at all
do you cleanse the eyes , I use a solution of baby wash and baby oil . IT works really well. often I will put cold tea bags onto his closed eyes .. Please do try it , it's a great soother and recycles at the same time lol.
good ide a that cabbage cottage
my eyes get v sore with not blinking and i use drops at the present time but it makes sense to jus bathe the eyelids and therefore the eyes, too
