Took my wife for a push along the Goatwalk at Topsham on the Exe estuary this afternoon- sat in the warm sun and dozed with the faint smell of salt in the air and the wistful call of curlews coming across the water. Very good for the soul .There can still be moments can't there .
A good day: Took my wife for a push along... - PSP Association
A good day
There can, and may there be many more.
And those are what we live for, psp or no! Thanks for the peaceful moment. Best, Easterncedar
And we have to hang onto those Dad xx
This year has helped being so mild sitting in a wheel chair is less of a punishment. You helped me remember Sidmouth and along that coast, thankyou.
Enjoy every outing that you can manage. We really do enjoy just popping down the shops. Most times we do stop and have a coffee and cake in the teashop. Hard work but well worth it for some normality in our relationship.
Long may it last. Janexx
There will always be moments like that, cherish them. MAddy
It is said that 'a few moments of joy in life are enough' and maybe that is as as much as we can hope for. Thank you for your post. Melvyn
That's wonderful to hear as you can still take her in the wheelchair. My mother normally is confined to the house unless it's a hospital visit. Living in the present moment and enjoying beauty of nature is a gift.
I too had a good day with my mum. Her nursing home had a Halloween party and I took my mother in law. We just chatted but mum joined in and laughed (as much as she is able) but it was definite smiles, wicked grins and laughter mostly at my mother in law's expense but laughter none the less and for over an hour. Definitely a good day for which I am truly grateful. Mum's quality of life seems comparatively poor, mobility severely restricted, incontinent, mild dementia, unable to swallow properly or feed herself etc etc etc but these occasions show there are still moments of pure joy amongst the sadness. It is good to share the positive moments particularly as PSP is so devastating. I hope others can think of those special moments to hang on to.
Lovely weather in our part of the world yesterday took my hubby for a trip to Taunton and pushed him round for a while and then had latte and scones outside the coffee shop.A bit of normality for use both with family and our little dog, a very welcome change of scenery for my husband,it did him the world of good.
