Best day for a long time - Valerie was awake and smiley. It really gave me a lift.
Couldn't get my priorities right this afternoon though - did I watch the rugby international or concentrate on giving her dinner properly ? Decided to do both but didn't do either very well.
Shouldn't have bothered cos England lost !!!

I cooked today - that is cooked Kung Po chicken and noodles all from scratch, including making the noodles.
I can't play a musical instrument and create that beauty of sound, but I do it with food as best I can. It used to give me a lot of joy.
Well, I made myself cook, big effort, I normally cook for Liz, a gift for her, for the joy of her enjoying it and I was so sad Liz was not able to have any.
I did it because I know she would want me to.
We must keep making our music.
Without that it gets too dark.
We must keep making our music whatever way we do it.
But if only our loved ones were here with us to enjoy it.
Feeling your loss and my lesser loss too.
Warmly
Kevin
P.S. The Moggie always gets a trimming of Chicken scalded in water, when I cook chicken. She approved in an aloof sort of cat fashion. There's always a little light in the dark and I aim to kindle it as best I can. I hope you find a way too.
Jean I will let you off! 😁. I wonder how many Rugby fans there are on here? I hate soccer but Rugby is another matter!
You are very generous to say Ireland will win against England but don't put a hex on them! 😁.
England are usually a good team but they fell apart yesterday. Maybe Scotland is on the up again? I don't keep tabs on any of them but I have to watch the matches!
Jean memories are always good but sad too as you say. I think I try to focus on the happy ones but there are days I come unstuck!
Hope you are coping alright Jean? Will you go to Yorkshire this year?
Yes. I am from a rugby background but I don't understand the rules - I just like shouting !!! Chris used to get very emotionally involved.
He knew nothing about rugby when I met him. I took him up to Yorkshire and he was amazed that every male he met in the family ask him if he played on the wing. So he became hooked [ watching, not playing !]
I still have a house in Bridlington - Yorkshire and so will go there as soon as its warmer.
I hope you raised a glass to what you had and had some fond and happy memories, first anniversaries of any kind of annual event must be the most painful. Ben supports Scotland as he is from Edinburgh so he was a happy bunny.
So glad you had a good day and your Valerie gave smiles, ver precious moments to treasure. I feel for your 'lost' in the rugby, but hey, Ireland won against Wales, which to be honest I wasn't expecting. Sending you love, Nanny857xx
Nanny, being Irish by birth who do you think I was cheering? Made my day. So did the bronze medal at the Olympics last night for GB! I actually stayed up until 3.00am to see it all. It was a great moment to see a man of 28 snow boarding! He was the oldest in the competition. Well done to him.
Ben is from Edinburgh so was delighted that Scotland won. Funny story, I was having coffee with friends when a lovely young woman approached us and asked if we would be witnesses at her wedding. We agreed and followed her to the nearby register office.awaiting in the carpark was a man of huge stature and his young son. Turns out it was Joe Marler, Harlequins and England player, a modest man planning to marry his wife on the quiet. Have photos to prove it too.
Hey, if my memory serves me right, nothing, but nothing gets in the way of watching England play. You gave Valerie a bit of normality, (OK, something only us rugby wives suffer,) probably the best feeling in her life for a long time! So yes, a great day.
As a Scot, I'm sitting here holding my tongue!! However, those days that are just a little better and the day seems a bit easier, re-charge our batteries and give us the strength and the hope to carry on. My hope is that all of you have many more days like that.
Margaret I love it! How very understated of you! 😇 Just waiting for someone from Wales to post now! I thought they were going to snatch victory from Ireland towards the end but they didn't thank goodness. Wales have a passion that other teams don't have. I have always thought that. Even when they lose you feel they played well?
Now sorry all those from England and Scotland but Ireland need to beat you to win the trophy.
I was very surprised that Scotland beat England but it must give Ireland encouragement? Having said that they will not want to lose 2 matches just like that?
Sent my Granddaughter a text asking where she was yesterday as I had nobody to yell with! I think I am a Rugby hooligan!! 😀 I have to watch my language but I do yell. 😉
