PSA after prostatectomy and testosterone

Hi, i m now more thant one year after RP. I had Gleason 3+4, negative margins, and good recovery.

Before surgery i had a PSMA PET Scan and it was clear.

Ma PSA after surgery was 0.02 at the hospital 0.03 at my GP after one year it was 0.03 at the hospital and 0.04 at my GP. The hospital said i should continue just to test at my GP and come back if it s over 0.1. Now 1,5 years after RP i have 0.06 at my GP. Is that only a laboratory difference or should i care about a recurence ?

I started to mesure my T, always in the morning before 10 oclock

Before RP : 778 ng (normal)

After RP : 1038 ng (1 year after) and now 1067 ng (1,5 year after) (too high said my doctors)

Should i be worried because of too high T encouraging a recurence ?

I m 58 and i do nothing special to increase my T, not even sport or sleep. I just have a regular "boring" life and job.

Thanks if anyone has experience in it.

Congratulations on your high T! Biochemical Recurrence is 0.2 -no need to do anything until then, and maybe not even then.

good to know that different labs sometimes have different measurements of " undetectable " so changes in numbers could be confusing.

enjoy your boring life ... seriously, boring is good. Stress over numbers is - in my opinion - NOT a good thing

Thanks to take a little of my stress over numbers away so i can go back to my boring and uncomplicated life, try to fill it with other things and ideas.

Plus : thanks for this internet site and chat. It helps

Let me emphasize on what pjd said...... IT IS IMPORTANT to consistantly use 1 lab to do your PSA tests. This way you get consistant results. Jumping around from lab to lab might make it look like numbers are increasing or decreasing when in reality they might be staying the same.
