ORGOVYX FOR 4-6 months ,what is the recovery time of testosterone after finishing?

Gleason 4 +3 , IMRT 20 tx , 68 , psma -no mets.

I am on orgovyx for 4 months . At the end of 4months treatment what is the time frame for return of testosterone?

I have heard that the pill form of orgovyx has a quicker return of testosterone than the lupron and other shots?

How many months after finishing the 4 months on orgovyx will my testoterone return?

Thanks in advance to all responses!

Half had return of T to at least 280 ng/dl within 90 days.

TA, since the studies show testosterone recovers more quickly following the use of Orgovyx, as opposed to Lupron, is there any concern that the faster recovery might be more likely to prompt BCR, and that the slower recovery after Lupron might actually delay recurrence?

If the treatment was curative, it doesn't matter. If it wasn't curative, one has to have lifelong ADT in either case.

Doesn't the "curative" probability depend on the duration of very low/no T ...ie duration of ADT combined with RT? Or it doesn't matter the duration of very low T for 4+3????? Or...unknown??

Took me about four months to recover from two months of Degarelix and two months of Orgovyx.

Here's a plot showing how fast T recovers after stopping Orgovyx, compared to Lupron.

my oncologists (both ) said take orgovyxx 4 months and your t will recover in 4 months. absolutely not true , I am 9 months after stopping orgo and my T is 78 and I am hypogonadal, with all the same symptoms of adt , hot flashes, weight gain, dizziness, brain fog, NO LIBIDO, etc.etc. Now they are saying Testosterone MAY NEVER COME BACK. Worst decision of my life . Now Sofies choice TRT with possibility of recurrence. All you Gleason 7's 4-3, be very careful what you agree to re TRT .. latest meta analysis says there is NO SURVIVAL BENEFIT to adt for gleason 7's. No survival benefit and 75% possibility of your natural testosterone never recovering... (only 25% recover and then possibly 2-5 years later)...Don't look like a good deal to me!

Sorry to hear that you are hypogonadal. I agree 100% with your message.

What was your baseline T before treatment?

Have you considered taking supplemental T? A. Morgentaler at Harvard Medical School has written many papers about the safety of using supplemental T in your situation.

I have had hypogonadism for 20 years, and take testosterone cream daily.

286 baseline ..which worked for me..morgenthaler had one patient ..better study is traverse...how long have you been doing the t cream(20 years??)...any side effects ..acne, afib, irregular heartbeat, etc. anything that would make you want to stop trt..not so worried about recurrence but more actual bad SE's of T. Have you had a recurrence do to trt? has your PSA risen? if u have been taking the T cream for 20 years your golden ! how do you feel...hows your libido..i have a 34 year old wife and need the libido reactivated..thanks..

Yes, you definitely could use some libido. :-)

I'm not sure what you mean by "Morgentaler had one patient." Could you explain?

I haven't had any heart problems while on TRT (or, ever).

My PSA has dropped from 10 to 2.4 over the past 5 months (see attached), but that was caused by the Dutasteride monotherapy that I'm currently taking. I plan on doing ADT and RT in about 2-3 months, after I recover from low back fusion surgery next week. Unfortunately, although my T is high (1060), my libido is very low, likely due to the Dutasteride cutting my DHT by 95%. DHT is a 10 times more potent version of testosterone than testosterone itself.
