hello. 75 year old man with radical prostatectomy in December. I had biopsy in August with 2 or 12 cores positive at Gleason7 & G8. Prostate Specific Antigen was 13 having quadrupled in a year. MRI and bone scans were negative. Pelvic nodes at surgery were negative. Prostate itself was read as G9. I have started a men's support group in my state because there were none. So I am eager to learn from others' experiences.

Welcome. Good that your scans are negative, but don't let that disuade you from PSA blood tests every three or four months. Will you be having radiation therapy soon?
meeting with oncology group end of February to discuss next steps. I am strongly opposed to ADP/TIP unless I hear a really convincing argument. To my mind, the potential side effects far outweigh the benefits.
Keep up with your PSA, likely you'll need followup radiation and adt.
Bob, G9, proton, adt
My plan is to monitor the PSA quarterly. I will be meeting with the oncology group in Feb.
I had g8, psa 12.7 and clean pathology report. I made 3 psa tests after rrp and all came at <0.01. So undetectable. Wish you the same.
Good recovery.
I accept your wish. How have you done with continence and erection?
Hi, sorry you are here
I am glad your scans are clear. Stay on it and keep up to date on research. It is too bad I wasn't diagnosed a few years later, the old school approach to treatment (and traditional urologist attitudes) was to do one treatment til it fails, then do the next, eventually getting chemo. What is different from when I was diagnosed is that a lot of research has shown combined treatments up front has benefits.
I hope your experience has been ok so far, how is your continence and potency?
Good luck and take care
Bill
