Well its has been a crazy chaotic time since my last post, I was able to go to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas . Had Blood work, was getting ready to schedule surgery to remove my prostate and bladder, but when I had a MRI they found a small 2cm mass on my spine(tail bone) that turned out to be metastatic...even tho my bone scan was negative(ugh)

Just found out yesterday...and I am so done with being scared...so done with worrying...so done being sad.....

I am actually at peace.. I have no idea how or why I got the this point.. but I cannot worry or cry about it anymore...

Got my first shot of Degarelix on April27th, felt like crap for 3 days. but I feel GREAT right now...the best I have in months...and I can pee like a 21 year old kid again :)

I saw Dr. Brain Chapin and Dr. Paul Corn.. Both where absolutely wonderful to me....the hole experience their was great and I believe I am in good hands...

Have been ordered Zytiga and hoping my insurance will cover it, because theres NO way I can afford $5,000.00 per month...god... I hope I can get it

So my routine will be Degarelix every 28 days and Zytiga for I don't know how long...

I am not candidate for surgery anymore since it has spread to my tail bone. Geeezzz it only ONE 2 cm tumor...smaller than a grape...nothing ANYWHERE else in my body..

Anyways brothers....

I am going to live like everyday is the last one ...post here ALLOT more and share until I cannot share anymore...

Good luck with your fight, seems like after the initial shock you are in a better mindset (at least as much as you can get into in this situation). I just got my first Degarelix injection today, abs are as sore as hell.

Your attitude is what it takes to begin your fight. Never give up. Hang in there, I wish you the best.

Thank you!!

Thanks for sharing Dean. It seems like you are on the right path. I have a friend who went ahead with surgery after being told it wouldn't help. It didn't. Best wishes. Andy

Thanks Dean, for the update. Keep us informed, we all care about how you will win this war. Yes, treatment does call for a complete lifestyle change from what you eat, to how much you exercise, to how much sleep you get. Waking up the next morning is always a gift that tells you have survived another day.

Best wishes, Dean. Everyone alive is living one day at a time. We should all live as if each day were our last, because it could be. Seriously, you have won the battle if you are at peace. Life is a precious gift. Our very existence is so unlikely. We are lucky to live as long as we do, and not lack for the necessities of life or even some of the bonuses of it.
