Mild forms of Chemotherapy that extend lives of PCa Patients.

I am a PCa survivor with Advanced Prostate Cancer who has survived for more than twenty years. Somebody asked me what drugs, substances, I have I tried that have helped me survive and live with PCa. I am responding as if I was asked by everyone:

All cancers are nothing more than cells that will not die. They form growths, internal or external, that also refuse to die. Any substance, any technological development, any means that slows, halts, or impedes the progression of these rapidly dividing cells we call cancer without harming the patient is an effective treatment.

Medical opinion, strategies, and treatment in the United States are biased by pharmaceutical advertising. Innovative naturopathic therapies, and new technological innovations are often overlooked because these products may not require the patents that return Pharmaceutical manufacturing companies large profits.

Pharmaceutical companies would have us believe that the only substances that can stop this abnormal growth are the patented drugs that they produce. This is a falsehood. Pharmaceutical companies only invest in things when they can make a profit. Often these drugs provide profits that are enormous and the drugs have far more economic value while providing very limited life extension. A drug that costs a fortune should provide far more than a cheap alternative taken early on over the course of the disease.

Salicylic Acid is a compound obtained from the bark of the white willow and wintergreen leaves. It was discovered by an English Minister way back in 1763. Around 1897 chemists working for Bayer used a form of Salicylic Acid called Acetylsalicylic acid and mixed it with corn starch in order to manufacture a pill named Aspirin. Since then other mixers have been used including, sugar, food dyes, etc., however it is all the same thing, despite brand names, and as a result of it's abilities it has made Pharmaceutical companies billions. As a commodity it costs so little to make, package, and distribute that without all of the advertising it is almost worthless.

Aspirin can be used to fight a host of health problems: cerebral thromboses (with less than one tablet a day); general pain or fever (two to six tablets a day; and diseases such as rheumatic fever, gout, and rheumatoid arthritis. The drug is also beneficial in helping to ward off heart attacks. In addition, biologists use aspirin to interfere with white blood cell action, and molecular biologists use the drug to activate genes. The wide range of effects that aspirin can produce made it difficult to pinpoint how it actually works, and it wasn't until the 1970s that biologists hypothesized that aspirin and related drugs (such as ibuprofen) work by inhibiting the synthesis of certain hormones that cause pain and inflammation.

Since then, scientists have made further progress in understanding how aspirin works. They now know, for instance, that aspirin and its relatives actually prevent the growth of cells that cause inflammation. Yes my fellow PCa patients less than one small aspirin per day can reduce some of the inflammation caused by abnormal cell growth and even slow it's growth. It is a miracle drug that may help those in need of a cheap form of chemotherapy that may actually extend your life a few days, months, or years if taken in the early stages after you discover yourself afflicted or even assist those who are waiting before deciding what form of treatment they might want to pursue. It does not offer any hope of a cure but if every one you take the same dose recommended for cardiac care you might live a few extra minutes, days, years... so why not talk to your physicians about an aspirin therapy...

*In 2015 the American Cancer Society, started recommending taking aspirin solely to reduce cancer risk.

Other substances I've tried that work very well for me that I recommend discussing with your physician:

Prednisone...another cheap drug, that when taken in as small a dose as 5 mg. daily extends the lives of cancer patients. It cures nothing but it does reduce pain and extend lives. It can also reduce lipomas and reduce the swelling in lymph nodes. Consult your physician, an endocrinologist, or your oncologist regarding your case...

Lyposomal Vitamin C...another cheap drug, an orthomolecular that extends the lives of cancer patients.

*Are you aware that simply crushing a plain old vitamin c tablet, mixing it with water, and pasting it on a Basil Cell Carcinoma is now being used to dissolve them in much the same manner that salicylic acid removes warts. Physicians say that it only works this way on Basil Cell Carcinomas and does not work on Melanomas. Consult your physician, a dermatologist, or a surgeon regarding your case...

When I was first diagnosed my urologist believed my disease was aggressive. I had a nerve sparing prostatectomy against his recommendation and continued to have a sex life. When I became recurrent I had a radiation wash out and continued to have a sex life. When I became recurrent again I went on an intermittent Lupron regimen and continued to have a sex life during the intermittent periods. I have used natural hormones, as advocated by Dr. David Brownstein, ortothomolecular nutrition as advocated by Drs. Abram Hoffer and Andrew Saul, phytoestrogens and many other mild naturopathic substances to maintain low PSA levels. I have identified in my other submissions a preference for HIFU as the treatment of choice with intent to cure for those that qualify and Killer T Cells as offering the best potential outcome of all the new therapys under development.

You can follow my submissions or look me up to review my case history. I am presently using .05 milligrams prednisone twice daily and 6000 milligrams, or more of lyposomal vitamin c, and an occasional round of tincture of Pao Pereira.

I take my PSA monthly to judge the effectiveness of whatever substances I am taking. Recently on my intermittent period using these substances I had my longest period of Low PSA, about six months at 1.5, before a rise. I have never been able to get below this PSA threshold.

My goal is to live with and suppress my disease for as long as possible and enjoy my retirement.

Well you are indeed a walking miracle I don't know if this would work for everyone. Do you get regular CT scans to see if you have any cancer spreading to other parts of your body?

Many physicians order routine screening to see if you have cancer spreading to other parts of your body.

I have allowed myself to be screened following recurrence but I have not allowed myself to be screened regularly because my study of the matter indicates that as long as you can reduce your PSA to a barely detectable level then your cancer is under control. If you are unable to suppress a rising PSA then screening is supportable as a diagnostic indicator of tumor location, however the overuse of radiation causes many problems. If you are not an allied health professional then you need to find yourself an advocate who is and discuss some of issues with either him or her. Every hospital has a Director of Social Work Services employing Medical Social Workers who are well trained and educated. Tertiary care centers employ some of the best. If you are unable to schedule sufficient time with your physician to discuss your family members case contact this department and find one of these professionals who has assisted many PCa patients and their families in coping with and making treatment choices for your family member. PCa is frightening for both laymen and professionals and no one should feel they need to deal with it alone. Help is available.

I never even heard of HIFU thanks I looked it up I wonder why my dads doctor never offered this? Who is a candidate for HIFU?

I have previously posted a review of HIFU. The procedure is the least invasive of all treatments with the intent to cure. Unfortunately following biopsy many cases are to far advanced to benefit from HIFU. Even so a full Prostatectomy followed by a radiation washout may offer years of life extension for many patients. They would have to find a urologist who is willing to perform the procedure despite advancement. You must understand that insurance companies can reject some procedures as experimental despite their acceptance as routine by a large number of providers.

I got it.
