Smear test?

Hi.i'm 15weeks pregnant and had few episodes of bleeding.i had a smear test today and i feel so scared cos dont know the results.what if they find abnormal cells?has anyone had similar experience?thanks for any answers x

Was it a routine smear or specifically because you've had bleeding? Routine smears are usually avoided during pregnancy as there are so many changes in the cervix (including something called ectropion, where the glandular tissue usually contained the the cervical canal is found in the 'external/visible' cervix - this tissue bleeds easily btw) that analysis is difficult... An equivocal smear shouldn't worry you too much. Hope you get a 'standard recall' result xx

Thank you for your reply.i had few problems from the start.firstly i had a laparoscopy as they thought it was ectopic pregnancy.but lucky it wasnt.baby is fine,very active,strong heartbeat.i had a bleeding couple of times and thrush.my consultant wanted make sure there is nothing going on in my cervix as my scan and blood tests are ok.i do hope i'm just one of those who have "period"in pregnancy and nothing worse as i feel so low and cant enjoy it yet xx

Two of my friends bled throughout their pregnancies and went on to have healthy babies! I'm sure it's really likely that you will do the same xx
