How long does sperm live inside of a female? And how long can it live to fertilise and cause pregnancy? Please someone be precise... I've read, 3 days 5 days 7 days and now 14 days???

When we were trying to get pregnant, my GP told me usually it lives about three days inside of the female body, but single especially strong sperm cells could live up to 5-7 days. I don't think it is true they can live up to 14 days.

I had to have fertility treatment and they advised three days max

Sperm survives inside the body for up to 72 hours. So the answer is it can fertilise an egg as long as it lives inside the female body.
