So with my first pregnancy 6 years ago I was diagnosed with HG, and I suffered from 6 weeks pregnant to giving birth. I didn’t go and see the doctor until about 12 weeks as I just assumed it was ‘normal’ pregnancy sickness. Fast forward to today. I’m 7 weeks pregnant and suffering the exact same symptoms that I did with my daughter. Somehow I feel a failure ringing the doctors and asking them to provide me some sort of relief via an anti sickness med.
Just need someone to tell me what I’m feeling is normal because I currently feel rubbish 😭

I had this too. What you’re feeling isn’t ‘normal’ if you have Hg. It’s not experienced by the majority and sadly not all Drs are good at treating it. Luckily my GP was.
Go and see them now! If you have HG it’s really imported to get on the medication before you get so dehydrated you end up in hospital. I asked for tablets as soon as I found out I was pregnant second time around. Started them at 5 weeks and at 8 weeks asked for stronger ones as they weren’t cutting it.
thank you for this. I’ve been today and seen a new GP at our practice and she was amazing. Started me on anti sickness meds and scheduled a call for 4 days time to check in and make sure they are working!
She was so understanding and completely got all of my fears and stresses from my last pregnancy. Has completely put me at ease.
So glad you went! Don’t be afraid to say you want to switch or take two types if it doesn’t work and you’ve tried it for a while. A website that is really useful is Pregnancy sickness support. They have lots of info about HG x
Been there done that and had to take 2 meds before the 3rd one helped. Xonvea was the one that helped for me however the doctors are extremely hesitant to prescribe it bc its really expensive. Hope that whatever you have is helping you already! Good luck. It will pass (although it might take a few months or so😜but you know that already)
