Antibiotic for Diarrhea??

I had pelvic radiation treatments in 2017 that caused severe, uncontrollable diarrhea since; which most of you can relate to. I recently moved to another city and had to choose a new gastroenterologist. He believes the radiation treatments could not have caused my issues...none of my other 10+ doctors over the years had said this. I am confused!! He has tested me for celiac disease and H Pylori with negative results.

He prescribed rifaximin (Xifaxan) 550 mg. Three tablets a day for 14 days. I must say, while it hasn't completely stopped the diarrhea, it has helped quite a bit.

Has anyone tried this antibiotic before and what were your results? I'm hopeful it will continue to work but given the number of years I've dealt with the side effects of radiation, I have my doubts.

I've also recently began taking fiber gummies, Florajen, and a low FODMAP diet at his request.

Thank you for any advice or feedback you can provide.
