I've seen a few posts on here people saying they can't get into dentist or scared to book in ive been having my usual check and first time I went was emergency but now my son is being seen regularly for a brace fitted it's safe to go to the dentist and my dentist said they would rather you go in than suffer and make problems worse so just thought I'd put it out there that a lot of them are still accepting you if needed we have been to two different ones and son is having teeth out tomorrow don't let your dental care be affected due to the virus .I can understand people being scared because of close contact but they are still wearing masks and you still have to aswell and hand sanitising

Yes you are right. I have had treatment three time since the lockdown(s) began and it has been really well managed. 🙂🌸
I think it depends where you live actually, we’re lucky here if we can get a Drs appointment, only online.
Tell me about it🙄
I'd try again if I was you
For what, the dentist? Luckily I don’t need one at the moment
Your alright then 😉
I am , It’s not the dentists it’s getting to see a Dr face to face is the problem here 😳
Yes I think it's hard to get face to face doctors everywhere they are limiting it to telephone calls unless it's for injections and things all mine have been telephone unless I'm getting jab or heart monitor x
Yes, it’s not the same though is it , I don’t think it will ever go back to the way it was before, as it’s easier for the Doctors this way .
Do you think ?i hope they don't because a lot of patients don't benefit from telephone consultations my mum has dementia and has struggled this whole lock down with doctors appointments because like you say it's easier for them in some ways
Me neither, my Mum suffered with vascular dementia, so I know what you mean it's very difficult.
Yes.My dentist was closed for all but emergencies up to September I've had two appointments in the last 4-5 months, one of which was the hygienist. I felt very safe: their covid procedures are excellent.
Yes, I have started getting treatment again. A filling next week and 3D xray.
Thanks for flagging that up Afrohair because yes, in this lockdown, dentists have remained open and are all working with strict rules in place to keep everyone safe. Of course they can't see as many patients in a day as they would once have done, but at least we no longer have to have 'do it yourself' dentistry or to remain in pain for weeks on end. 👍😊
You're right, I had an appointment last year in the Summer and I've got another appointment next month. It's so organised.
I've not had a problem when lockdown started I was suffering but after a few weeks of suffering she told me to come in I needed a filling it was causing pain where couldn't eat but that was the very beginning x
That's good to know, I've not had a problem either which is good😊
My hubby had a call to go for his checkup, they wouldn’t do a scale and polish though, just checked his teeth.
Oh wow ask him to call again because they offered me one but decided to do the thing what needed doing most first I guess it depends how many clients they have in etc they will put emergency work first and probably want you to book that in when convenient
I don't believe people are wearing masks when having the dentist work on their teath.
Why not of course you take your mask of to open your mouth that's common sense!!!
Then all I can say is your lucky. I’ve not getting into see my dentist since my last appointment March just before lockdown. They only taken emergency appointments only. Also my Gp forgot what she looks like since they are phone appointments only. Not seen any since first lockdown. My oldest son is in different place on a private dentist. He registered with them in may. When he and his wife bought new place and moved and he’s also still waiting and his is private. He as to pay them every month to be on its books. So not all areas are doing them. 🙂
Try again love your sons case is quite different as new patient.cant speak for g.p as this post was related to dental care
Don’t have to try my dentist said they going down list of all patients to try get to check. Also for my son and his wife there were told would be seen by sept/Oct.
Of course they are!your getting seen then! your not going to be seen first if you were last to be seen originally unless emergency your sons case is different as classed as a new patient all patients who are already there are bound to be seen first unless emergency. My sons is private aswell dosent matter what money you throw at people rules are rules
Yes thanks for that. We have now made appointments with our Dentist for routine check ups which is something they were not doing until a couple of weeks ago.
I had to have two teeth removed during lockdown which was done by my local dentist. I should really have had this done in hospital as I have Osteoporosis he had to get permission from the Rheumatology Clinic. Both my Husband and I have had our yearly checkups cancelled.
