I am not celebrating Christmas. I haven't been able to for 12 years. Maybe in the future. Hope everyone who does celebrate it has a good time. 🙂🌸

P.S. Sorry for posting a negative post.

It’s truthful so please don’t be sorry 😊

It got less each year then when I was at my house I used to put a optic fibre tree up love the changing colours as cats tend to play with the tinsel and things it's not safe to have decorations and found it all a bit cluttering like a nice big tinsel Holly type one we have on mam's fireplace it's a big open fireplace and looks like a Xmas card xx

We started using a fibre optic one as I found over the years that I couldn't take the smell of the real Christmas trees. It was beautiful and as you say, I loved the changing colours. We haven't bothered for a few years now though so it's still packed away in the attic.

I had a small one that sat on the hearth and broke then the same year was a big one at our local market but it's not the same colours bit still lovely it came to mam's last year as she got a white one and thought it cold it will come out her loft this year and we will have a lovely Xmas as did last year and after her heart attack Xmas day the year before any kind of Xmas day is a bonus together 🌟xx

The fairy lights have not been taken down for 4 years, inside and out, 'cos I'm a tad afeared of getting up the step ladder as I am prone to dizzy spells and balancing hurts my legs and back. I have a silver twiggy branch thingy with little lights on that comes out of the cupboard and only this morning I bought a poinsettia - that's it for me. OH passed on 6th Dec 2012 so it is just me, no-one to even see indoor decorations anyway. I have shelves full of Xmas but nowt comes out any more. I have checked all the lights work though ready for mid December switch on.! My little Spanish village and the next door town have already got the street deccies up, three weeks earlier than last year.

I put up a small tree, a fresh swag on the door and odd bits of decor here and there and my Nativity scene. Only a few lights outside on my porch railing.

We do! We our getting our tree on Saturday and decorating that plus our windows with snowflakes and garland. We live in a small flat in London that doesn't face the road so we don't put up any outside, but when we move I want to decorate our front garden and put wreaths on the doors. I love Christmas and decorating is one of my favourite parts!

I love the lights outside and we walk down and look at the houses I thinks it's romantic but after many years of been single my decor got less and I used to say every year not having any and always got the optic fibre tree out and some false candles as not safe with a pixie in the house lol this year it's me and mam as I'm living with her for now and as she had heart attack Xmas day year before last it will just be nice that were both sat at the table together and pixie will have his eye on the turkey crown lol xx

Hi wiserlady, I don't really have room for Christmas decorations and certainly not a tree but I do love lights and candles and I use lots of those over the festive season. And I clear off my Buddha shrine and take Buddha to a new view by the window for the duration of Christmas and then set up my nativity scene.

Well, two of them actually. I have one which I love very much because it was hand made by my sister, and a rather more elegant one but commercially made. It's lovely but doesn't have the same connection for me.

I haven't put decorations up for quite a few years now, nor a christmas tree as my cat normally has it over after climbing up it, I live on my own and I don't really celebrate christmas, haven't done for many years, however I do put my christmas cards on he bookshelves :-)

I agree, I love the decorations, although I keep them minimal nowadays, as my son is a bit of a grinch with regards to Christmas..

I have a green tree, and either white or coloured lights, If I do white lights I have red and gold baubles, and maybe a few tartan bows. When I decide on coloured lights then my baubles are white and silver, with maybe a touch of ice blue.

I also have a set of baubles which don't really fit the theme, they are a woodland set in greens and copper, These usually go on my Halloween Tree, which is black, and I have orange and green lights to go with it. I tend to go all out at Halloween, with a grotto for the littl'uns, but I am finding lately there is getting to be too much glitter with Halloween, (getting Disneyfied). I have skeletons of people, rats, owls, dogs and cats, and a wolf, which has a motion sensor, as well as a skeleton Butler, also motion operated.

I use electric candles in the Pumpkins, and dress the human skeletons as a Witch, a Scarecrow and The Grim Reaper. Couldn't really do it this year, with the Covid, but set up the tree and skeletons up in my bay window, with green lights shining up for a creepy effect. Worked pretty well, and I heard some good comments during the evening as folk walked past!

Aww Christmas is my favourite time of year and Easter I must say !ive done a lot of diy things and in the past I bought a skeleton painted it gold and put some gems around the eyes for a goonies theme (the film)I then put the skeleton in a Black cage.i also made a bride and groom diy skeleton painted gold and put them on a cake stand for decor I don't really do outside.I do Halloween mainly for the kids cause they love it but as I said it gives memories and something to look forward to so I don't mind it we don't go out through the year so it's exciting getting everything ready.my mum never did anything like that at Halloween as she's too superstitious and says it's not part of Christianity so we didn't do it as kids but I do it for the fun of it for my kids because they enjoy it .And through the year I love decorating at Easter I like to do baskets for them and decorate the table with little porcelain bunnies and a lovely candle which is Easter themed I think cause I was never brought up with it I wanted it more for myself as I enjoy it and always wanted my mum to decorate but she never did only at Xmas !nowadays she dosent even put a tree up!and is such a Scrooge at Christmas I don't think she likes it that much

Ever since owning my two dogs ( 9 years ) I've spent Christmas entirely alone . None of my family are local to me and nobody wants the dogs in their homes and I refuse to leave them on their own hence my solitude. Christmas to me has always been a family affair when members should gather and we do usually meet local to me for lunch or dinner prior to the big day, obviously due to the pandemic this is not possible.

Christmas is a time of misery for me rather than one of celebration and as a consequence I don't adorn my home with a tree or decorations etc. I don't feel my remaining family members fully appreciate how being shut out from things has such a negative impact on me and sadly it's a time of year I detest.
