A couple of weeks ago I posted that after a routine, successful, eye hospital appt, the GP letter stated that I should use the drops I'm on and 1 that was discontinued May 2019
I emailed the support nurse informing her of this, didn't hear anything, 24 Oct I get a text from Boots saying prescription is ready, rang them, it's the drops I don't need, therefore I haven't collected it yet, 27 October email to eye hospital, copied in GP practice a long detailed email explaining why I don't need the ones that have been discontinued, the drops I do use were last dispensed 13 Oct, only get one month, haven't been notified that next script is ready, tried ringing but getting no answer, have just over 2 weeks worth left.
Don't know if GP and hospital have communicated with each other and sorted it out, do I ring GP practice to see what's going on, or due to the lack of communication with patient do I notify PALS
As the post title says, I'm now completely fed up with this situation and any suggestions gratefully received

It annoys me greatly does poor communication!
My advice is yes you should get in contact with PALS and put in a formal complaint as with all due respect that isn't on!
Also ask to speak to the practice manager at your surgery and put in a formal complaint there!
Best of luck!
I find the pharmacists are better qualified to advise on appropriate drugs than the doctors are and they are open 7 days a week and you don't need to wait an age for an appointment with them either.
Thanks Jerry, I found out in December my consultant has retired, don't know who the new one is!!!
I thought I'd have to wait about a week for a reply, but 2 1/2 weeks in I haven't even had generic, thank you for your email we'll respond to your issues within x number of days. The drops that were discontinued have been at the pharmacy since 24 October, I keep ringing them to try and find out about the ones I should use but they're not answering the phone, if it isn't resolved I'll get my sister to collect the drops I don't need and use them, if I stop using them I risk losing my vision so ones I shouldn't be using is the better alternative
This sounds very annoying for you Jennymary. Like Jerry said, email all of them, if you get no response, contact PALS, they can the try to coordinate a response for you and deal with the communication issues.👍😊
That's awful Jennymary, they should at least acknowledge you. Firstly I would contact your GP and if no success then PALS.
Hi Jennie. Is it Bristol Eye Hospital? If so, you could contact the ECLO (Eye Clinic Liaison Officer) there - you should be able to get the number online or maybe if you ring the hospital, they can give it to you or even put you through to the department. Don't leave it too long. xx
It is Bristol Eye hospital, I emailed the ECLO as soon as I got the letter, after about ten days I sent another more detailed one this time copying in GP so everyone knows why I don't need extra, drops, I did get hold of boots a couple of hours ago, girl I spoke to said I order, shouted no you do, asked to speak to a manager who was busy, still awaiting a call, my sister has said she'll come over tomorrow for me and take me over there to try and get it sorted
It's absolutely ridiculous, what's going on - the left hand doesn't seem to know what the right hand is doing!! I feel sorry for you having to try to get this sorted, it sounds very stressful. All the best with it. x
Maybe call your GP surgery and give them one chance to sort this out for you, (maybe by speaking to the Practice Manager). If you then aren't satisfied with the outcome, take the PALS route.
