Yes yes yes I've had old mum on the phone talking about Christmas I can't quite get in the mood this year but I'm trying so my dilemma is !i hate the tidy up at Christmas wrapping and all I have 3 kids soon to be 4 we do have wrapping paper in the house but I'm tempted to skip using it does that make me Scrooge ?as a mother I need more rest at Christmas I'm also pregnant and I just feel like the clean up for me is horrendous the wrapping paper clean up the bins full high I don't mind cooking at all except for peeling spuds that is .

Does everyone here use wrapping paper I know some people have cut down a lot in the past years and use material fabric would it scrap the fun out of my kids Christmas? If I didn't wrap them and just put in a large Christmas bag

Those massive Christmas bags are so lovely now, if they'd been around when my kids were little I'd definitely have used them! I had 4 under 5s at one at one stage and the cramp that I used to get when pregnant and sitting down wrapping presents was horrible, make things a little bit easier for yourself in any way you can😁xx

Yeah I know the wrapping is a nightmare that's why I was thinking of scrapping It along with the clean up I think your right I'll look for some lovely bags to use hopefully my kids will be happy 😊

I have spd as well it's a nightmare

I quite like all that discarded wrapping paper Afrohair. It shows what a good time the kids are having. We generally go around with a plastic refuse sack and collect it up after Santa's done the distribution.

How about a half way house and use those Christmas gift bags instead? They are quite a bit cheaper now than they used to be, come in quite large sizes, and to stop peeping ahead of time you can tape or staple the tops of them. With care they can also be salvaged for another time too. And of course it's half the work!

That's what I'm wondering if it will ruin the experience for them I can't decide.on my daughters birthday I wrapped a few presents and gave her a hamper which was wrapped with things in it and it worked quite well it meant I didn't wrap too much I may just wrap the main present and put the other bits in a hamper type thing x

That’s probably a really good compromise Afrohair. That way everyone should be happy. Are you a good wrapper? My daughter does it beautifully but try as I might mine always look disastrous and it’s always obvious that it’s a gift from me, before anyone even reads the label! 🤣

My grandchildren have so much fun with the bags when they're empty, they get in them and play sack races it's so funny to watch them(until one of them gets hurt) 🙄xx

I buy firm bags and my friends do as well, they get recycled, from me next time I give a gift, children seem happy to learn about helping the environment.

Yes I think I'll explain more on that as I've got more environmentally aware this past year I think they know that anyway but it's becoming more embedded in me.i taught my son composting in summer x
