Try new food Thursday - Prawn pesto rose pasta

Hi all, happy Thursday! Hope you're keeping cool and staying safe.

This week I wanted to share a light pasta recipe made with rose wine, which I thought was very fitting for this nice weather. It's very, very simple and quite tasty. I added a bit of cheese to it as it's my number 1 pregnancy craving. You can find the recipe for it at jamieoliver.com/recipes/pra.... We used shelled prawns when the recipe calls for large shell on prawns, but I think you can do it either way and it's still delicious. This is the only way I'll be able to enjoy rose for a little while hehe

What are you all cooking or baking this week?

Hi Jerry! I loooove carrot and coriander soup! Such a great idea with the fried potatoes instead of croutons, it looks so delicious!

Thank you very much for your lovely compliments :) We had a great time away and I wish i was still there in this glorious weather. We definitely treated ourselves food wise - I even had two pizzas one day haha

I hope you have some nice plans in the sunshine over the next few days! Have a lovely weekend and enjoy those Easter biscuits! What a treat :)

I enjoy cheese as well but the ones like roqueforte i find are quite salty!

Baby the cat enjoys prawns and salmon and was envious over zests salmon and prawn salad lunch the other week!

One day at the toxic job before it got unbearable there I had brought in some prawns for a snack and had put the packet in the recycling bin near some desks and one of the people who sat at the desks had complained that there was a stink of fish coming from the recycling bin and the line manager had gone over and had emptied out the bin and there was the prawn packet that I had put in there!

I can assure you that I feel they did me a favour when they bullied me now time has passed by and helped as it got me away from that ill suited place even though it hurt at the time!

I feel now time has passed that I made the right decision in leaving!

I'm so sorry to hear about your horrible experience with bullying at work! It sounds like you've made the complete right decision by leaving. I hope you can enjoy prawns and salmon with your cat baby :)

It was a tough decision to make though.

One colleague had asked me why I hadn't just already left and I had said how I don't make important decisions like that on a whim and that I needed time to think about it as the only thing I had wanted to regret was not having done it sooner but I know I did my best with what I knew at the time when I had decided to have waited rather than make the decision on a whim!

I feel the best thing to do if you're not sure about a decision is to wait and take your time to consider the implications of what you are doing!

The covid situation though is one of those things that is beyond my control.

We are having kippers this evening which is something else that our spoilt ginger tabby baby enjoys!

Oooh I love that when you can share with your pet what you are eating as well :) We do that with our tiger cat and chicken!

Tiger will have his nose pushed out of joint as the baby of the family when the new baby comes along!

Nice dinner. We had left over chili, cornbread, and salad from the garden. It wasn’t new though.

that sounds fantastic! a lot of my foods aren't new either, I tend to stick to comforting food I know I like. Cornbread is one of my favourites though! Did you make it yourself?
