Dear ALL,
Just a 'quickie' tonight.... A jar of 'Jalfrezi' sauce, and some chicken. I'm going to serve it with Brown rice and Sweetcorn.
I bought the chicken last week, and froze it.

That sounds absolutely delicious!
That sounds a really good 'quickie' dinner AndrewT. Aren't those jars of sauce a great help?
Yes The 'Jars' can be good, for a quickie, though I honestly do Prefere to make my 'own' sauces- when I can.

Love to make my own curries, Lamb with Vinegar and Mint, from Madhur Jaffrey's book Invitation to Indian Cooking, is excellent, it sort of adds a roast lamb dinner flavour to a curry, you can find it on the web.
But where I live in Spain there are no local takeaways, and ready meals are very limited so good quality jars of curry sauce are a great standby. Sometimes I pep them up by frying onion, garlic, ginger and fresh chillies then adding the sauce.
Dear Margaret,
I personally don't like Lamb, I think that I might even be slightly allergic.... let me explain. As a child wool 'irritated' my skin and maybe, some of 'rougher' wools might even now, Lanolin (wool fat) causes me a slight irritation too. The actual meat I don't 'like', to put it mildly!
It's very Odd, I have other dislikes but nothing that 'Resonates' the same, some how. For example I don't 'Like' roast parsnip I, much prefer then boiled- or raw, but I can/ will eat them..... the same is also true with Asparagus. But, with Lamb, it's very different.
I'll Stick with the Pork, Chicken, Beef, Rabbit, Venison, Guinea Foul or, for a change, Prawn.
Thanks for the suggestion though Margaret.

What is jalfrezi?
Jalfrezi is a, fairly Hot- yet flavourful- curry sauce. Most of the 'big' Makes, sell it, along with several Supermarket brands. The one, that I used, was a Morrisons 'own'. I can't remember the, exact price, but it wasn't expensive. Just look where the Curry / Cook In sauces are- unless they have a specific 'Indian' section.

Prince Phillips favourite when the Queen is not in.😊
Now I am getting hungry again after just having dinner. I love a good banger as well as fish and chips.
