Happy Thursday everyone! I hope you're having a good week so far! I've hit 30 weeks of pregnancy and I am really feeling it - big and uncomfortable, nervous and excited! We are very much in our own bubble at the moment with covid restrictions and I flip between liking it and feeling a bit lonely, but I know it is all for the best and we are making the best of the situation. I hope everyone else here is doing ok.
We are still following along with Great British Bake off and this week was pastry week. My husband did the baking this week and treated us to a wonderful butter chicken pie recipe from an Indian restaurant called Gymkhana - you can find the recipe here theguardian.com/lifeandstyl....
He made the pastry and everything! It was delicious and I was very impressed The picture shows the filling in the pie before we put them in the oven. I think he would have made it through pastry week on the show!
What is everyone else cooking or eating this week? I hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

First of all SadieHU, congratulations on reaching this milestone in your pregnancy, and it's lovely to hear that you are well and 'blossoming' even though you feel rather large!
Who doesn't love a delicious butter chicken and this recipe is just the topping on the pie! Maybe you should think of entering your husband for next year's Great British Bake Off! 👍😋
thank you so much for your kind words I think he should go on it too!
Hello that looks like a nice pie we have been meaning to try some spicey curry type filling in our pies, after seeing a tinned Frey bentos chicken curry one lol we like to make our own healthy pastry with cold pressed rapeseed oil, I made a nice chicken pasta last night with peppers onions garlic fried in the oil I'm trying to eat more garlic and onions for my immune system and gut health on Tuesday we had home made fish in batter and chips cooked in microwave then flash fried in the oil it doesn't saturate at high temperatures like other fats so is ok if watching cholestrol, enjoy your tea 😋
I will put my mam on kitchen lockdown this weekend then she can stay in the kitchen baking me nice pastry's which she loves doing she is just like Mary berry so I don't really need to lock her in and she might eat all the pies lol I'm looking forward to our Xmas baking I'll make vegetarian sasag rolls and keich and lemon and jam tarts and mice pies we had a lovely Xmas last year it was special because the year before on Xmas day mam was rushed to hospital for emergency heart op so I didn't get my dinner so we made up for it last year 😁
Oh my goodness Jerry that cake looks stunning! I've never heard of Gache Melee before, but it looks absolutely mouthwatering! Thanks so much for your kind words I am really glad to hear you don't feel lonely despite being isolated. That is really great and I hope that continues! Hope you have a fantastic weekend as well!
