Mainly a jog today

β€’27 Replies

Hi all

We've had drizzle here so far today, it was supposed to be better this afternoon but sadly not. A bonus though, I still got out.😊

I walked fast up the very steep hills but jogged the rest so did a fair bit of jogging today which I was pleased about.πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ

The views along the coast weren't the best so I took other photos as well ie. a photo of wildflowers. My mum used to call the pink flower a 'ragged robin, I've never known it's proper Latin name.

Hope you enjoy the photos.

Alicia😊

Glorious photos Alicia. Are any near Kingsbridge?

I wish I had your energy.

Xxx

Thank you, it wasn't the best weather to take photos. I'm so glad I got out though.

Kingsbridge isn't far from me, in fact I wasn't far from there yesterday on my cycle ride, I was in Modbury. Do you live in Kingsbridge?

I'm actually feeling tired now, think it's the weather.

Hello agan, No, I live in a village near the sea in South Wales. You mention Modbury on your journey. Such a lovely little place. When my husband was alive we spent some time in Dartmouth where an aunt lived. We also enjoyed holidays in Torcross which I loved. We often visited Modbury. I remember there was a little shop that sold antique radio's. My husband had collected a few over the years and the owner of the shop was interested in buying them. Precious memories of an area in the country that I love.

Oh how lovely to live in a village. Where I live is called a village but I think it's slightly too big to be called one although it has had very little development over the years.

Dartmouth is very pretty, a place I'd happily live in, the countryside is precious, particularly what they are doing with new builds these days.

Your hubby had a lovely hobby and such lovely memories of him.

Alicia😊🌈🌝⚘🌷

The wild flowers are gorgeous so pretty. I just love small pathways like that through the tree's. I'm glad you enjoyed your jog. xx

Thank you Bobby, I do love wild flowers. The small pathways are so pretty and I enjoy walking/jogging on them.

Have a lovely evening. xx

Thank you Zoonie, I'm finding it easier each time I go out, just need to keep it up.

It's a lovely flower and I always refer to it as ragged robin, it reminds me of my lovely mum, she was amazing.

Your wild patch sounds good.😊

So am i. I finished that shrub 14.30 pm then it absolutely poured down!!!

All I could say, Thank you Lord for making me do this early in the day!

Perfect timing. Nearly gave up, as felt worn out, but so glad i persevered!β€πŸ’œ

in reply to Snowdrops_17

Hey well done on the timing, proves that you did the right thing doing that in the morning.

You sound like me asi would have also preserved.

Well doneπŸ‘πŸ’™

I had to! Didn't want it to drag on...

Still got lots to do in there but those shrubs, it was either now or never.

They die on me if they dont get pruned. Bins are all full, even my old rubbish bins and 2 green garden sacks are full. If skips were open i would have got rid of this asap.

Hey the Ho, we shall wait, delays things, doesn't it Alicia 😁

Well, Patience is a virtue, they say,

Got that sometimes πŸ˜πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ’œπŸŒ³πŸŒ²πŸŒ±β˜˜πŸ•ΈπŸ¦ πŸ›πŸœπŸπŸž

in reply to Snowdrops_17

That's the problem, easy to let things drag on and now's the ideal opportunity.

Well that's a big job out of the way for you.

Isn't it difficult with the tips closed, we have black bags out in our garden, it'll take a while to get rid of them.

Well it is the least of our worries, staying safe is the most important.

This is actually making me more patient in ways ie. standing in queues.πŸ§β€β™€οΈπŸ§β€β™€οΈπŸ§β€β™€οΈ

in reply to Snowdrops_17

Well all I can say is credit to you for doing it, well done.😊

Well done!

At least with queues they are polite and fair with first come first served better than the panic buying fiasco when it was on the news asdas in Brighton where they were pushing and shoving to get in at 6am which was ridiculous!

I totally believe you. It was horrendous before lockdown.

It was difficult to buy stuff i needed, but had to find alternate items. Actually it made me think, if I really needed some of it on my shopping list. But it was crazy in the first week or 2 until people calmed down. Had to share loo paper with my daughter before lockdown as she couldn't get any at all.... ha well ....i think we have to learn to improvise if we can. Unless you are on a strict diet like Alicia here and a lot of other folks who struggle with certain health issues. Right have a lovely evening and night. God bless you all 🌺πŸ₯€βš˜πŸŒ±β˜˜πŸŒΏπŸ’œ

Here in Cardiff it was horrendous with adults swearing at supermarket staff because they couldn't have their own way!

Thankfully for us we had stocked up when times were good so had no need for panic buying and pushing and shoving at 6am so we didn't lose out personally but I was angry for the less fortunate who did though.

One day a place didn't have any loaves of bread on sale but had bread rolls so I had bought the rolls instead without any fuss!

I avoid supermarkets nowadays unless I am really desperate and I have given home deliveries a miss as well so the less fortunate can have a slot if they want one.

Beautiful photos , I love the wild flowers . We usually buy a box every year , it comes out like powder but the flowers you get are lovely.

On the subject of running I did my very first 10 mile run today. It wasn't easy it was very hilly but it's done 😊😊

in reply to Buddy34

Ooh I bet your wild flowers look glorious and give plenty of colour.

That's fantastic and well done, particularly as it was so hilly, you must feel goodπŸ‘

Hi Alicia, We too have had a murky day today. I went out for a short walk very early, but of course nothing as dizzying as your amazing feats. Glad to hear that you at least managed to get out and that you did some jogging too! Oh I'm so pleased to hear the term 'ragged robin' for those wild flowers. My mum taught me that name too. I don't know its real name either. I can see there's been some coastal mist, but the pictures are lovely anyway. I love nature in all its moods! 😊

in reply to

Yes it really was a murky say but all if a sudden we now have some blue sky, lovely to see. I'm glad I got out when I did though. I'm pleased you managed to get out as well, takes a bit more effort when the weather isn't so good, hope you enjoyed it.

Isn't it a lovely thing to remember our mothers by, it's a very pretty flower.

I agree, nature's a wonderful thing whatever the weather although I thought a little differently through last Autumn and Winter when it was so wet, I am a Spring/Summer person.

Have a good evening.😊

I absolutely love Campions, even hearing the name of them takes me right back to my childhood in the country☺️
