Quinoa Bread

Hi all

I managed to get some white spelt flour last week but unfortunately it's not rising so it doesn't look like it's working so I'm going to have to wait until I can buy whole wheat spelt flour. In the meantime I've been constantly trawling the internet and came across this one. It really does look good so I'm looking forward to trying it.

Here is the recipe:

I'm looking forward to trying this one.

Have a good evening all.

Alicia :)

Thank you Jerry, I will end up making a successful bread and then of course the spelt will finally appear back in the shops - can't wait. :)

Exactly, I have a sensitivity to yeast.

It's a bit like eating quinoa which I consume regularly.πŸ˜‹

Hi Alicia, You are having a bit of a time with it with flour aren't you? Hope you can source some wholewheat spelt flour and get your bread back on track! This must be so frustrating! 😞

Hi Hidden , yes it's been difficult but I'm so happy I've found both the quinoa and banana breads, they will do until I can get the wholewheat spelt. I'd love to be able to buy some bread but sadly I can not. Every cloud has a silver lining as these breads will do me for now🌈😊

How old is your yeast? Also, with certain flours you need more water. Oops!I realised reading on that there is no yeast. Is your Baking soda or bicarb fairly new? Don't forget it needs an acid to activate it such as lemon juice, a light vinegar or Yogurt or buttermilk.

Thank you for your reply. I used lemon juice in the recipe, it did turn out well but needs some flavour as quinoa is bland, I'm thinking of putting some herbs in the mixture.

I've not used Quinoa, I usually work up a sourdough, but that wouldn't work for you.

I've only used quinoa because I couldn't get the spelt flour, I normally make sourdough but I've successfully made some bow using white spelt, I normally use whole wheat.😊
