I met a friend today who I haven't seen since March and it was so lovely catching up. I cooked my sourdough before I left and it's now in the freezer sliced.
I cycled just over 26 miles and managed to get some more spelt flour which I was pleased about. I made some no bake bars after lunch and now have hubby's bread doing it's thing in the bread maker, I haven't used the breadmaker in a very long time.
Hope you've all had a good day.
Have a lovely evening.

Thank you for your mail, glad you have the energy to do all those things, at 78 I have a hard time keeping caught up!!!! Love the photos, I am an ex Brit, live in the US, so glad to see the countryside, I miss that and the wild flowers. It is pretty where I live I am on small lake, lots of birds, and squirrels. I have a mess to clean up we had a hurricane last eve!!! Would love to try some of your bread, I love a good sourdough. Keep having fun. Sending love n hugs.....
So nice to hear from you again. Yes I don't do too bad for my age. The hurricane left a mess for me to clean up, front lawn, back lawn and my deck!!! Today I was woken up by one heck of a storm, the thunder was right above my house, didn't frighten me, my parents when I was young told me it was "God playing bowels", I tell my cats God is in the bowling ally, it frightened them today, they went and hid under the bed. We got about 3/4 inches of rain and it pelted down!!!
Your bread sounds delicious, a friend gave me a bread maker, and I have not got around to using it Yet!!!
Today a cardinal came to the bird feeder, I was so glad to see it, they are bright red (the males). Last night I put our some small pieces of dog biscuits, they were all gone this a.m. so either the raccoons or the possums got them. They are nocturnal, some times if I am up late I see them on the deck looking for food, I also put out day old french bread with peanut butter or canned dog food, they eat it all.
My news for today, I hope you and your husband are keeping well, the "Virus" is bad over here, worst place in the world now, and we have such an idiot president, I hope we can get him out in Nov. Stay well, enjoy your bike, I have an exercise bike, managed to ride is 10 miles last Tue and 16 on Thur. With what is going on I have not been on it this week so far, have promised myself Thursday!!! Have a great rest of your week, sending love n hugs....
I would say you do very well and one very big pat on the back for being so positive, well done. Personally, because I'm not used to such awful weather I'm pretty sure a hurricane would frighten me but I suppose if you get them often you must get used to them. My mum used to say it was 'God moving his furniture' when we had thunder so very similar.
Oh my goodness, I haven't used my bread maker in a very long time and I have to say it was so simple to use, measure the ingredients and put the yeast, flour and any other dry stuff in before the wet, the water is the last thing to go in, then you set it on it's programme, that's it, couldn't be any easier.
That sounds like such a lovely bird and what a sight for you. You do get some wildlife, we have nothing like that in the south west of the UK. They are certainly well fed in your garden for sure.
We are doing really well thank you. Yes the virus is bad in America and I really hope it does calm down soon, roll on for this vaccine they are working on. Here's to your country's numbers going down very soon rather than up. My goodness, you certainly cycled loads of miles on your exercise bike and I think it can be harder as you aren't enjoying any scenery so your mind's not being taken off the hill you are climbing.
I had a so so day. This morning I went to a duckpond and then went to Ashtead in the car to the shops after lunch but was delayed by trains enroute home.
We were so pleased to see each other after so long, it was great.
It's cloudy with some rain tomorrow, similar on Thursday then it gets sunny and hot - brill.
Thank you πππππ΄ββοΈ

Thank you Lynne, we are so pleased. It's amazing what the drugs are doing and they have saved her sight. I'd never heard of JIA until she was diagnosed but didn't know you could get RA in the eyes. The hospital have been amazing.
Take care

Aww, that's great!! Children are amazing. Our youngest, Ian was diagnosed with Crohn's disease aged 12 after a battle on our part to be listened to. Our Dr only listened when my hubby came with usπ he coped so well with everything that was thrown at him. Anyway he had just started university and in the November had a massive flare up , he was in agony, he had to come home, have surgery to remove part of his bowel and have a colostomy bag on for 6 months. He then had the bag removed and started uni from scratch in the September. He hasn't looked back. We are so proud of him. He loved every minute of uni, met his now girlfriend , Chantelle who is lovely. They are living together happily.
Our other son, Mike also has bowel issues. When he goes to the loo the muscle which is called the automatic muscle does not work properly, it pulls one way as he is pushing the other. He can be in absolute agony, he said it's like a knife being pushed up. He is under the hospital but there have been delays due to covid-19. He has said he would even have a bag on to relieve his pain . Mike also loved university and met his now girlfriend Alannah who is also lovely. They are looking at properties to rent after lockdown. We are so proud of him.
It is terrible seeing our boys in pain.
And then there's me, least said!!!
Dave said he is the only normal one in our family, I said that's a matter of opinion π€£

Hi Lynne
Crohn's disease is awful, the amount of pain they go through. Why of why do some doctors not listen to parents who know their children best. Our daughter was told it was growing pains with little one but the second appointment she had it was a locum and he was the one that referred her, he listened. I'm glad your hubby went with you but that shouldn't have needed to happen. I'm so pleased he went back to University and gas never looked back, what a trooper. And also met his girlfriend.
Oh no, I feel so for your other son, why they can't see some people that are in so much pain, they should be higher on the list, not all hospitals have had a huge influx of COVID patients, I know they are trying their best but others also need to be considered. Glad he also met a lovely girlfriend.
It's awful when it's your children, or in my case grandchildren, isn't it.
As you've said them there's you in so much pain, I feel so for you.
Glad Dave's normalπ.
Take care

We might be seeing our friends very soon who we haven't seen in person since March either but have done video calls with them.
We are looking to reschedule the things that were cancelled back in March as most of them can easily be fitted in another day.
β’ in reply to
That'll be really good seeing them, it was lovely seeing my friend today.
Yes I last saw my friend in March and as you say, we can easily fit these things in another day.
Thank you Jerry, it was a very good day, so lovely to catch up with a very close friend. The bread is now in the freezer along with a loaf I made in the breadmaker for hubby.
Enjoy the rest of your evening.

Sounds great. Apparently bear us the railway are selling some land so that a cycle path can run parallel to the rail line. Sounds promising! Lovely photos.
Wow you definitely have a connection with all living things, but the animals you photograph, especially this horse, which I remember from a previous post. Keep on keeping on lady.
